1 dead, 3 missing (now after 72 hrs, presumed dead) = 4 dead.
11 people have been injured according to final reports, however other reports of up to 40 injured have also come out of Guatemala.
Over 2500 people have been affected - with at least 400 houses damaged, with 11 severely damaged (collapsed). Support systems are in place in the Santa Rosa region.
The data from this earthquake have also been confused by many landslides occurring in the area as a result of rains.

There are many injured and traumatised people as a result of this event.
At least 400 homes have been damaged in the Cuilapa area, and these homes have been evacuated.
UPDATE 23:50 UTC: Local sources are mentioning 1 killed person, 3 missing people and a lot of injured. Rescue services are continuing their struggle to find survivors. A total of 5 aftershocks have been reported. None of the aftershocks had a magnitude above 5. Most of the damage has been inflicted in the Cuilapa Santa Rosa area.
3 people were injured in the Cuilapa hospital. 10 persons have been treated for nervous breakdowns.
UPDATE 23:38 UTC: At least 6 people have been reported injured.
UPDATE 21:42 UTC: A woman, Flor Escobar de Jesus (28), was killed when a wall in her house collapsed in Cuilapa. Earlier she was reported as a victim of a landslide. Two others died as their cars were buried in a landslide.
UPDATE 20:40 UTC: Earlier reported family buried under a wall is from Cuilapa, in the department of Santa Rosa. Crews are on the way to rescue the family. Three vehicles were also trapped in a mudslide on a road leading to El Salvador, but no injuries were reported.

UPDATE 20:34 UTC: Local media also reported that a wall fell on several houses, trapping a family. It was not clear if there were more casualties. Public buildings were evacuated in the area and school classes canceled.
UPDATE 19:58 UTC: A spokesman for the Volunteer Firefighters told local media that at least one woman died and three were injured as a result of a landslide caused by the earthquakes in Cuialapa community, southeast of the country. Three children from a private school in that city were also transferred to a hospital after suffering injuries when they ran for help. Local media also reported damage to structures Cuilapa National Hospital, as well as several residences in that city.
UPDATE 19:53 UTC: The fire department confirmed the death of a person in Cuilapa.
UPDATE 19:43 UTC: The earthquake was initially reported as a 6.1 magnitude quake at , later recalculated as a 5.8 magnitude earthquake. Damage is reported from near the epicenter.
UPDATE 19:34 UTC: One house collapsed in Santa Rosa. The person reported earlier was killed by a landslide. The quakes struck near Guatemala's southwestern coast in the sugar cane-growing region around Santa Rosa.
