At least four people were killed during this quake, several others suffered injuries. According to chinese authorities, several houses in villages near the epicenter collapsed, others had to be evacuated. Damage assessment is still ongoing. Food supply and medical support was provided for the affected people.
A widely felt aftershock (M3.5) followed this night but didn't cause any new damage.

According to official sources on Weibo, several houses in Zhaotong area were damaged by the quake. One building partially collapsed and trapped at least two people. Rescue teams, including S&R dogs, were dispatched to the affected area.
A quake of magnitude 5.0, according to chinese authorities, has hit the province Yunnan on monday evening local time. It was felt in nearby cities. Basing on experience with earlier earthquakes, significant damage can be expected in nearby villages. Also landslides are possible.
