Update 22:44 UTC: Surveillance video shawing the shaking in a school in Cotacachi
Update 22:42 UTC: 2 people injured due to falling glass and a number of slightly damaged houses and buildings
Update 14:20 UTC:Â Â Seismogram of the mainshock and the aftershock
Update 14:16 UTC: Up till now, no reports of damage, mainly bacause the epicenter is in a natural sparsely (if any) populated area. The earthquake was felt in the southern part of Quito.
Update 13:56 UTC: Local IGEPN reports a M5.4 Magnitude at a depth of 3.4 km = very dangerous for people living in a radius of 10 km around the epicenter.
Update 13:49 UTC: Based on the present earthquake parameters (Magnitude, Depth, Population, etc) and our experience with earthquake damage impact, earthquake-report.com does expect at least some slight damage like cracks in walls, fallen tiles, etc. based on the preliminary earthquake data

Ibarra - No damage. Quaking lasted about 15 seconds
Cotacachi - No damage, wind chimes sounded. Woke me up.
Cotacachi - Light shaking
Cotacachi - I’m on the ground floor of a three story house. My dogs went weird and then the ground started moving, not just shaking but moving side to side. Lasted maybe 20 seconds,
Quito - The shaking lasted for about seven seconds. I did not notice any damage.
Cotacachi - Strong shaking
Quito - I felt the bed swaying left and right but no damage
