  • Malaybalay - Moderate shaking
  • Dumaguete City - the shaking lasted below/above 10 seconds
  • Cagayan de Oro city - This was the strongest so far after many years na it lasted a bit longer. An after shock was felt about 2hrs later.
  • Cagayan de Oro City - No damage. Maybe around 5-7 seconds. Then after 5 am, an after shock was felt for about 3-4 seconds.
  • Don Carlos - Quakes woke us
  • Davao City - For about a half a minute the area felt like it was swaying. Then a minute or two later it happened again, but weaker.
  • Cagayan de Oro - I didn't notice how long, only that the shaking woke me up
  • cagayan de oro city - Woke me up at around 4:48am. More or less 5seconds. Mura ko ug giduyan.
  • Tupi, South Cotabato - Was already awake but still lying down. Weak and lasted 5 seconds or less. Probably wouldn't have noticed if I was standing and doing something.
  • Cagayan de Oro - About 20 seconds, i think. Then after a few minutes, it shaked again.
  • Iligan City - makamata jud ka ky klaro kaayo ang shaking
  • Cagayan de Oro City - It lasted for about 5-8 seconds with moderate shaking and no damaged has been done.
  • Gusa,Cagayan de Oro - We were just visiting a friend here because their mother died.I felt shaking of the bed thrice. So far no major damage of the property.
  • Maramag - Its about 5 to seconds. Perhaps 5 to 6 magnitude.
  • Carmen, North Cotabato - It was unexpected, I was also been afraid of earthquakes. After what happened earlier and the past earthquakes, just a small noise from our roof or a little shake of my bed I panicked immediately. Thinking it's an earthquake again.
  • Maramag - I was awakened when I felt the whole house is shaken and cracked sound in my surrounding. There were 3 to 4 successive strong shakes we experience this early morning. No damage just a few objects have fallen from my divider.
  • Valencia City, Bukidnon - No damage done in our concrete/wooden house. shaking very noticeable which woke us up from our sleep. We thought it would increase in intensity but nevertheless it subsided with a 2 aftershocks happening a few minutes later.
  • Calinan, Davao City - Not easily felt...lasted for a few secibds around 5:15 am.
  • Iligan city - The "shaking" lasted only briefly (thank God), about 10 seconds, but even as I didn't have a good night's sleep last night, I still felt it and immediately 'concluded" that there really was an earthquake and it was not a "headache". Had it lasted longer, I fear that it would have done some damage to most homes and/or buildings, because it was really quite strong.
  • bukidnon - I felt nervous because our house is concrete but is not yet strong enough .
  • Cagayan De Oro - It roused me from sleep at around 0440h this morning. Paintings banged the walls at least at 3rd floor. And felt at least 3 aftershocks that were not as strong. I theorized it was "nearby" like Bukidnon basing on the strong shaking. Had it been longer I would hage rushed outdoors.
  • Poblacion, pangantucan, bukidnon - 30sec, our basin was fallen into the floor
  • Dangcagan, Bukidnon - Around 2 am in the morning we experienced weak shaking for just 10 sec. Later at 4:47 am the shaking is a bit stronger lasted for about 22 seconds. After almost 2 hrs we felt the aftershock and around noon we experienced another aftershock.

  • Central Mindanao University - Its about 5 to 7 seconds. Perhaps 5 to 6 magnitude.
  • Iligan city - I would characterize the "shaking" as "moderate" in strength, and even as I didn't have a good night's sleep, I immediately realized that there really was an earthquake, and I immediately awakened my wife. As for how "strong" it was, I felt that if it lasted longer, it would have done/caused some damage in most homes/buildings. Thank God it lasted for only about 10 seconds..

    People :
Felt by persons at rest, on upper floors or favorably placed.
    MMI III (Weak shaking) ?
    People :
Felt indoors; hanging objects may swing, vibration similar to passing of light trucks, duration may be estimated, may not be recognized as an earthquake.
    MMI IV (Light shaking) ?
    People :
Generally noticed indoors but not outside. Light sleepers may be awakened. Vibration may be likened to the passing of heavy traffic, or to the jolt of a heavy object falling or striking the building.
    Fittings :
Doors and windows rattle. Glassware and crockery rattle. Liquids in open vessels may be slightly disturbed. Standing motorcars may rock.
    Structures :
Walls and frames of buildings, and partitions and suspended ceilings in commercial buildings, may be heard to creak.
    MMI V (Moderate shaking) ?
    People :
Generally felt outside, and by almost everyone indoors. Most sleepers awakened. A few people alarmed.
    Fittings :
Small unstable objects are displaced or upset. Some glassware and crockery may be broken. Hanging pictures knock against the wall. Open doors may swing. Cupboard doors secured by magnetic catches may open. Pendulum clocks stop, start, or change rate.

    Structures :
Slight damage to buildings with low standard. Some stucco or cement plaster falls. Large display windows broken. Damage to a few weak domestic chimneys, some may fall.
    Environment :
Trees and bushes shake, or are heard to rustle. Loose material may be dislodged from sloping ground, e.g. existing slides, talus slopes, shingle slides.
MMI VII (Very strong shaking) ?
    People
General alarm. Difficulty experienced in standing. Noticed by motorcar drivers who may stop.
    Fittings :

    Structures :
Unreinforced stone and brick walls cracked. Low standard buildings cracked with some minor masonry falls. A few instances of damage to buildings of ordinary workmanship. Unbraced parapets, unbraced brick gables, and architectural ornaments fall. Roofing tiles, especially ridge tiles may be dislodged. Many unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, often falling from roof-line. Water tanks Type I burst. A few instances of damage to brick veneers and plaster or cement-based linings. Unrestrained water cylinders (hot-water cylinders) may move and leak. Some common windows cracked. Suspended ceilings damaged.
    Environment :
Water made turbid by stirred up mud. Small slides such as falls of sand and gravel banks, and small rock-falls from steep slopes and cuttings. Instances of settlement of unconsolidated or wet, or weak soils. Some fine cracks appear in sloping ground. A few instances of liquefaction (i.e. small water and sand ejections).
