Magnitudes have been high, with one reaching M 2.8. All depths in between 19 and 26 km. According to IGN this is normal and part of the seismic process and not the eruption.

Update 13/06 - 13:00 UTC
- 2 Earthquakes today after 5 days without any, making a total of 36 earthquakes registered by IGN since 1st June 2012.
- The strongest at 04:57 UTC with a Magnitude 1.8 and depth 25km. At 08:10 UTC a soft movement of Magnitude 0.3 and depth unknown. Both similar location, N Frontera.

Update 10/06 - 15:00 UTC
- Following the update containing the document from ULPGC, here is the video, showing the volcano at different depth, bubbles and fish swimming along. Recorded by the Qstar Crew of the Atlantic Explorer.

Update 09/06
- Joke Volta made a summary of events for the past week which can be download here. Also, here photographs from these days can be downloaded in this zip file here.

Update 08/06 - 23:55 UTC
- NO earthquakes today.
- Atlantic Explorer (QSTAR S.L.U.) was investigating the area of the eruptive cone. The research from the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria included video footage from the submarine robot ROV Sirius, AGEOTEC

Click here for the in-depth documents of the ULPGC (they have not published the ROV video yet)

Update 08/06 - 05:17 UTC
- NO earthquakes so far today

Joke wrote earlier today :
The coast guard ship Adhara and the helicopter realized a normal surveillance yesterday, nothing to do with the volcanic activity..
Qstar company and investment-vessel Atlantic Explorer left the Restinga port this morning, leaving for Gran Canaria. The did some water-samples, and made a few try-outs with the ROV they have on board during their last week stay.
Let's hope that we can see some images later on.
The strange wave movements in the Naos Bay rea yesterday, were probably caused by traditional Calmas Sea currents in combination with wind waves.

Update 07/06 - 23:25 UTC
- IGN has listed 1 earthquake today, a M 1.0 at a depth of 12 km at 14:12 to the west of Frontera

Update 06/06 - 23:25 UTC
- We have cut off a large part of this earthquake today.

Update 06/06 - 13:25 UTC
- NO IGN listed earthquakes so far today
- Harmonic tremor graph (CHIE) has been repaired and gives normal readings again.

Update 05/06 - 05:55 UTC
- A 0.9 earthquake occurred at 07:51 at a depth of 14 km to the SW of El Pinar (close to El Pinar)

Update 04/06 - 17:00 UTC
- The seismic activity is getting stronger at El Hierro island as today another swarm of earthquakes has occurred. Thanks to our readers for alerting us.
- The strongest earthquake of today with a Magnitude 2.9 has been in Frontera at 12:45 UTC, depth of 17 Km and felt by the population.
- Since midnight there have been 16 earthquakes! Most of them between 10km and 20km depth.
- For full details of all earthquakes, visit the IGN site and enter today's date: http://www.ign.es/ign/layoutIn/volcaFormularioCatalogo.do

Update 2/06 and 3/06
- The volcano has chosen the right time to start a new swarm, just when i left for a 3 week vacation (Armand). This will however not change anything for this site. Even urgent news will be handled.
- The Atlantic Explorer is back on site on the right time. Their material has taken pictures of new gas/ash emission at the volcano cone.

- Is this a new earthquake swarm or not ? It is indeed the strongest seismicity that we have seen since many many weeks. 5 earthquakes on Saturday and already 7 on Sunday

Update 1/06 - 13:31 UTC
- The Atlantic Explorer SOS Oceanos ship will be returning to the port of La Restinga soon for a new volcano mission.
- Joke told us earlier today that El Hierro people have noticed Tuna schools and whales passing by, probably meaning that the island waters are considered healthy again. Joke herself hasn't seen them yet ... and she only believes it when she has seen it with her own eyes :)
