  • Florence - My work desk was shaking for about 10 seconds.

  • Palmyra New Jersey - The earthquake lasted no more than 10 seconds. We thought it was a truck at first, it was super light. No damage though.
  • Severna Park, MD - Lasted about 3 seconds and felt like a shaking roll.
  • Philadelphia - lasted less than 1 minute slight shaking of cubicles
  • Riverton, NJ - Occurred at 4:50 pm felt like there was massive wind blowing the sides of the house and could feel movement under me as I sat on a chair

  • BRIDGETON, NJ - approximnately 445 PM light shaking lasting several seconds
  • media, pa 19063 - 3 or 4 seconds. no damage.
  • Odenton, MD - Felt it for about 10 seconds. Stuff in cupboards rattled about that long as well.
  • Wilmington - 5 seconds at 4:48 pm EST No damage
  • Brookhaven, Pennsylvania - Around 16:50, shaking of third floor apartment for roughly 1-2 minutes.
  • Baltimore - around 10 seconds of shaking, no noticeable damage in my area.
  • Phillipsburg nj - Lasted about 10 seconds, windows rattled and heard rumbling. I could feel it in my chair.
  • jackson heights, ny - shaking that lasted more than 5 seconds
  • staten island, new york - Tremor lasted between 5 to 10 seconds at about 4:51pm on Nov. 30, 2017. All the furniture in my living room shook and all the windows rattled.

  • Macungie - I was laying on my bed working on my computer. I felt shaking, which made me sit up to find out what was causing it. The shaking lasted a couple seconds and I did see objects in the room rattling. I couldn\'t find any sign of something that would have caused it, but the shaking had stopped, so I went back to work. I did not notice any actual damage.
  • Brooklyn - Light shaking
  • Kimberton - The shake was short but strong. I would say it lasted about 2-3 seconds. The time was 16:50
  • Camden Delaware - Loud boom, rumbling and significant building swaying/shaking for about 3-5 seconds, mild swaying that affected plants towards the end, after the rumbling stopped.
  • Annapolis - light to moderate shaking for a second or two, followed by a pronounced jolt. No damage.
  • Wilmington - Slow rumble that got louder and shook ornaments on Christmas Tree. No Damage. Lasted 7 -10 seconds.
  • magnolia - lasted 5 seconds, I thought korea just nuked Wash, DC
  • Blue Bell, PA - 5 seconds...no known damage. A few of us felt the shaking while we were sitting in our cubicles.
  • Mount Laurel, NJ - Building shock for 5-10 seconds with chair rolling on the floor
  • Trenton - Shook for about 10 seconds moderate shaking
  • Mickleton NJ - Deep rumble slightly before and after minor side to side ground motion. I felt it while sitting but my standing wife and son didn't feel it.
  • Morton - Felt my house shake at approx. 4:50PM EST
  • Chester, Pa - Noticed a nearby table shaking, very breifly, did not shake my heavy desk.
  • Elizabeth - Shake for a couple seconds,my roof lamp was moving.
  • Reston, VA - Moderate shaking
  • Ship Bottom - 15 seconds/no damage
  • Blue Bell, PA - A few of us located on 4th floor felt our chairs shake in our cubes...lasted about 5 seconds.
  • West Deptford, NJ - Felt like something heavy hit the house or a large gust of wind blew, but the trees were still. It may have lasted 5 or more seconds. No visible damage.
  • Laurel, MD - Shaking lasted several seconds (no damage)
  • Baltimore - Lasted for about 10 second. No damage.
  • Philadelphia - Sitting in the library, almost 10 seconds, no damage, thought it was heavy construction equipment at first

  • Crownsville, MD - Lamp on floor and pictures on the wall shook. 3 seconds at 4:50pm EST.
  • Dover - Moderate shaking
  • Silver Spring - Just a few seconds. No damage
  • Salisbury Township - I thought I heard and felt a truck pull up in the driveway. I turned off the TV sound and felt the vibration and sound for about 10 seconds, then it stopped. No damage. Around 4:50 PM.
  • Clayton DE - I was sitting on the couch and the house started shaking
  • Virginia - I heard/felt what sounded like stomping up and down the stairs...like a muffled rumbling. It was very brief. Didn\'t think it was an earthquake until a friend texted me about it.
  • northvale, new jersey - Very weak shaking
  • Wilmington - About 5 seconds
  • Medford New Jersey - Felt almost like a large tractor trailer load was dumped behind the building. One person sitting on the floor felt some shaking.
  • Laurel - Moderate shaking
  • Ocean City, NJ - At about 5pm EST, I was sitting at a table, and the table shook twice, for a few seconds each, under my forearm, which rested on the table. I am on the third floor of a hotel. I heard that someone on the 4 fourth floor reported it as well. There was no damage at all.

  • Fairfax, VA - Noticed that the bed started swaying and then realized the entire apartment was rocking gently but discernibly
  • Leawood, KS - Sitting on my sofa felt slight side to side motion as in jello shaking. Lasted about 5 seconds. No damage, nothing visibly moved in the room.
  • Redhill close - Window frame totally damaged
  • Fallston, MD - Had new washing machine delivered Nov.30. Had just started spin cycle when I heard a loud banging noise, then bottles on back of stove started rattling. Was thinking that this new machine was too noisy, that maybe it wasn't leveled properly. Realized it was an earthquake when daughter rushed into kitchen from her room asking if I felt that. She was on her bed and felt it move. Dog, however, was sleeping on dog bed in the kitchen and didn't react at all. Glad to know it wasn't my new machine

  • Center Valley, PA - Felt like someone shook the sofa, nothing moved in home, animals (parrots and cats) did not react.
  • Montgomery Township,NJ - Shaking lasted about 6-7 seconds. It felt stronger on the second floor than on the main floor (single family house).
  • willow grove, pa - house shook, few seconds; neighbors felt same thing at their houses.
  • Villas - Woke me up from my afternoon nap. 4 or 5 seconds. Scared me as my house popped when it began. Haven't felt this in 53 years living here in South jersey.
  • Pasadena - 7 seconds, no damage
  • Philadelphia, PA - The rattling/vibrations last a few seconds. I sit on the first floor next to windows. Someone was walking by my desk, and I knew that their walking wasn't shaking the floor and windows next to me!
  • vineland nj 08360 - About 450pm mild shaking for about a minute
  • Plymouth Meeting - Felt like a minute or two of shaking and rattling of furniture. Almost felt like something landed on my roof too. Was on third floor at the time. Live not far from a quarry thought it was an explosion there.

  • Dover - at work, heard a very loud boom, then shaking for about 5 seconds or so....thought a car/truck may have run into our building.
  • Mount Laurel - Sitting on second floor of two-story wood frame house. Felt sudden impact similar to gust of 50- or 60- mph wind. Windows rattled and house shook and lightly swayed for about 15 seconds.
  • Ocean City, NJ - Felt like someone was shaking the chair I was sitting in. Lasted about 6 sec.
  • Mount Royal - Shaking lasted about 5 seconds. TV on my dresser was skating along with lanterns on the dresser as well.
  • Dover, DE - Shaking lasted approximately 15 seconds. On second floor of brick building. Some people evacuated
  • Cecil county md - Glasses shaking in cabinets, about 10-15 seconds, People in basement did not feel it, pets did not react
  • Fairton - Was soaking in tub heard something felt shaking then whole house shook
  • West Deptford - Was inside of my West Deptford township home when approx at 4:47 the house began to shake moderately lasting approximately 10 - 15 seconds ,o have to admit I was a little nervous and was relieved when the shaking stopped. No visual or structural damage
  • Belcamp, MD - Felt like a train passing for 8-10 seconds.

  • Washington, DC - The floor shook.
  • Nottingham PA - growing rumble under house and slight shaking- 5-10 secs-no damage
  • Pennsville, NJ - Kind of a revving up to a boom and shake like an airplane flew past my back yard or an explosion.
  • Annapolis - I was sitting on my couch and all the sudden it starts shaking back and forth as if someone were pushing it. I didn’t think anything of it until I checked my phone and saw that all my friends felt it too and that it was an earthquake.
  • Montgomery, NY - 4:48 pm, 11-30-2017, was in 3rd story level of old house, large rumble similar to a military supply transport jet, however deeper pitch, vibrations in wall and furniture, impression of slight swaying feeling in the house.

  • Columbia - It lasted for 5-10 seconds. You could feel the roll of the crust.

  • Cherry Hill, NJ - briefly the reception windows rattled at 4:50 pm
  • Bala Cynwyd - Approximately lasted 5 seconds. Felt on the 10th floor of a building.

  • Brigantine NJ - I actually thought it was a moving truck that was passing the house but after it lasting more than a couple of seconds, I knew it had to be something else.

  • Middletown Deleware - I was sitting and the loveseat shook for 5 seconds
  • Columbia MD - No damage just shook for a few seconds
  • McLean, VA - 4:48pm local time. 6-8 seconds of rumbling, window rattled, house vibrated/weak shaking.

  • Smyrna, DE - it centered about 6.4 miles northeast of Dover M 5.1
  • Hamilton Township, New Jersey - Shaking last for one second. Felt like the bottom dropped out once.

  • Dovet - Not sure about my house or anything yet. It shook my entire house for a while. I was asleep & it woke me right up. It was very scary.
  • Baltimore - My c1875 constructed brick end unit of 9 unit rowhouse block shook all over twice for about a second each time starting at 1646/1647 local time (2146/2147 UTC), w/slight tremor of less duration between them and a longer, more than a second, tremoring after the second good shake. Nothing inside fell or outside was seen or heard to fall. I heard the 5yr olds next door run down their upstairs hallway calling to their mom. Friends NYC&in Valley Forge, PA felt nothing.   • Woodside, DE - The shaking and rumbling lasted between 6 to 10 seconds. No damage but did rattle an slightly move the glasses in the hutch. The really odd thing is my cat ran and hid and has not come out since he went behind some Christmas boxes. He actually started acting last night about 5pm. I don't know if he sensed something was going to happen or not.

    People :
    Felt indoors; hanging objects may swing, vibration similar to passing of light trucks, duration may be estimated, may not be recognized as an earthquake.
    MMI IV (Light shaking) ?
    People :
    Generally noticed indoors but not outside. Light sleepers may be awakened. Vibration may be likened to the passing of heavy traffic, or to the jolt of a heavy object falling or striking the building.
    Fittings :
    Doors and windows rattle. Glassware and crockery rattle. Liquids in open vessels may be slightly disturbed. Standing motorcars may rock.
    Structures :
    Walls and frames of buildings, and partitions and suspended ceilings in commercial buildings, may be heard to creak.
    MMI V (Moderate shaking) ?
    People :
    Generally felt outside, and by almost everyone indoors. Most sleepers awakened. A few people alarmed.
    Fittings :
    Small unstable objects are displaced or upset. Some glassware and crockery may be broken. Hanging pictures knock against the wall. Open doors may swing. Cupboard doors secured by magnetic catches may open. Pendulum clocks stop, start, or change rate.
    Structures :
    Some large display windows cracked. A few earthenware toilet fixtures cracked.
    MMI VI (Strong shaking) ?
    People Felt by all. People and animals alarmed. Many run outside. Difficulty experienced in walking steadily.
    Fittings :
    Objects fall from shelves. Pictures fall from walls. Some furniture moved on smooth floors, some unsecured free-standing fireplaces moved. Glassware and crockery broken. Very unstable furniture overturned. Small church and school bells ring. Appliances move on bench or table tops. Filing cabinets or "easy glide" drawers may open (or shut).
    Structures :
    Slight damage to buildings with low standard. Some stucco or cement plaster falls. Large display windows broken. Damage to a few weak domestic chimneys, some may fall.
    Environment :
    Trees and bushes shake, or are heard to rustle. Loose material may be dislodged from sloping ground, e.g. existing slides, talus slopes, shingle slides.
    MMI VII (Very strong shaking) ?
    People
    General alarm. Difficulty experienced in standing. Noticed by motorcar drivers who may stop.
    Fittings :
    Large bells ring. Furniture moves on smooth floors, may move on carpeted floors. Substantial damage to fragile contents of buildings.
    Structures :
    Unreinforced stone and brick walls cracked. Low standard buildings cracked with some minor masonry falls. A few instances of damage to buildings of ordinary workmanship. Unbraced parapets, unbraced brick gables, and architectural ornaments fall. Roofing tiles, especially ridge tiles may be dislodged. Many unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, often falling from roof-line. Water tanks Type I burst. A few instances of damage to brick veneers and plaster or cement-based linings. Unrestrained water cylinders (hot-water cylinders) may move and leak. Some common windows cracked. Suspended ceilings damaged.
    Environment :
    Water made turbid by stirred up mud. Small slides such as falls of sand and gravel banks, and small rock-falls from steep slopes and cuttings. Instances of settlement of unconsolidated or wet, or weak soils. Some fine cracks appear in sloping ground. A few instances of liquefaction (i.e. small water and sand ejections).
    MMI VIII (Severe shaking) ?
    People Alarm may approach panic. Steering of motorcars greatly affected. Structures : Low standard buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. ordinary workmanship buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged in some cases. A few instances of damage to buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes. Monuments and pre-1976 elevated tanks and factory stacks twisted or brought down. Some pre-1965 infill masonry panels damaged. A few post-1980 brick veneers damaged. Decayed timber piles of houses damaged. Houses not secured to foundations may move. Most unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, some below roof-line, many brought down. Environment : Cracks appear on steep slopes and in wet ground. Small to moderate slides in roadside cuttings and unsupported excavations. Small water and sand ejections and localized lateral spreading adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
    MMI IX (Violent shaking) ?
    Structures Many low standard buildings destroyed. Ordinary workmanship buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes damaged in some cases, some with flexible frames seriously damaged. Damage or permanent distortion to some buildings and bridges, designed and built to normal use standards. Houses not secured to foundations shifted off. Brick veneers fall and expose frames. Environment : Cracking of ground conspicuous. Landsliding general on steep slopes. Liquefaction effects intensified and more widespread, with large lateral spreading and flow sliding adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
