  • Hollandale - It shook my house and the 2 houses around me.
  • Greenville - Lasted about 4 seconds. No damage. Neighborhood dogs highly disturbed.
  • Lake Village, AR - Lasted approx. 5 seconds, rolling motion, no damage
  • HOLLANDALE - Moderate shaking that only lasted a few seconds. Rattled windows, shook a coffee bar with coffee pot & coffee cups.
  • Bentonia - Sitting on the couch felt like something bump the house. Very quick but got up to look outside (for what I don’t know).
  • Greenville - Slight shaking, my refrigerator shook. Lasted a few sec. no damage
  • Greenville - I was at work and felt tremors or vibration under my feet then dizzy I saw some items rocking. Only few seconds it was wierd.
  • Wayside MS - It lasted approx. 15 sec. I felt the house move and clinking of dishes and things on the wall. Also I heard a loud bang like someone had run a car into our house. Our home is all metal and on a concrete foundation.

  • Madison, MS - Short but knocked something off of the shelf.
  • Madison, MS - whole building shook.
  • Gluckstadt, Ms - 6/29/2015 8:22 AM Monday loud bang & house shook,felt like a truck hit the house, A few pictures hit the floor from the wall
  • Madison - Brief, hard shake. Two separate incidents very close together. I at first thought a truck had hit the building.
  • Perry - Loud boom and a little shaking. Is it possible I felt this in northeastern ohio. Happened about 1115 this morning.

  • Kalamazoo - The ceiling inside Kohls dept store sounded like it was going to collapse on us!
  • Shelby Township - I was sitting on my bed on the second floor of my house reading when I felt the house shaking and the bed moving from side to side. It seemed to go on for a little while.
  • holland - Outside washing the car. Heard it more than felt it. Sounded like it was something in my attic (likely I was hearing the house shake) strangest noise experience I ever heard, dismissed it, then learned from a friend it was a 4.2 near Galesburg.
  • Goshen, IN - Sitting in living room and felt the floor shake.
  • Grand Blanc - Whole house shook for about five seconds. I literally saw the ceiling move.
  • Jenison - Earthquake? I was outside in the backyard and didn't notice/feel anything. Wife, daughter, granddaughter came out asking "what was that?!?!" I said "what?". They said the house shook and dishes rattled. They thought I did something. Hey I just had a tape measure in my hands. Not gonna shake anything with that!

  • Madison - Heard a rumble and felt the house shake for a few seconds. Ran outside, as did other neighbors. No damage.
  • Madison - Felt house shake three times. Second time was the worst.
  • Madison - Heard a rumble and felt a shake for a few seconds. My husband was up front and I was in the back with my two year old. I ran up from as he was going to the front door, both of us trying to see what the heck was going on. Neighbors were perplex, too. No one sustained any damage.

  • Comstock, mi - No noticeable damage. Very loud rumble, so much so that we thought a truck had lost its brakes and crashed. Everything rattled and there was a roar. I ran outside and saw several of my neighbors had done the same thing. It really was rather terrifying for a michigan girl who's never been through an earthquake before.

  • Ridgeland, MS - A boom. The bed and house shook, slightly. No damage.
  • Gluckstadt - Felt like a something crashed into my house.
  • Stanton - Rattled plates and bowls in kitchen. Noticed plants shaking for about 5 seconds
  • Ridgeland - Felt like a vehicle crashed in my yard. (Had several in past). No damage that I can see.
  • Lexington Holmes County - Heard a loud boom
  • Flora - Like a loud distant thunder followed by a deep, low rumble under feet (I'm on the 2nd floor) and walls slightly rattled. Like a dryer rattling real bad.
  • Long Beach - No matter how big or small they all scared me. This one woke me up from my sleep
  • Onsted, MI - May 2, ~12:25 pm Rumbling and shaking of the house. Knew right away what it was because it was similar to earthquake I experienced in NE Ohio around 1986 or 1987. That one was stronger though.
  • madison - heard an unfamiliar sound and my wrought iron stand started shaking in the dining room
  • Kennesaw - low frequency shaking in the house like a truck or train going by the house. Lasted for about 30-45 minutes that I could notice
  • Canton, MS - I thought someone was blowing up something near by when a neighbor told me about it. I was sitting on my couch and the I felt the floor shaking and some dishes moving.
  • Madison MS - In the kitchen area a light shaking then a loud and hard noise and shaking and again the same noise. sound like someone was blowing up something. It was very frightened.
  • Canton Mississippi - It felt like a shock wave ran though the house, and like all the energy just went to the corner of the house with a loud crack. The house really took a punch. There was not a lot of shaking, just one quick punch with a small rumble afterwards. There were 5 events overall over the next hour or so. We are very close to Nissan west of I-55. No damage that I can find.

  • Madison - Heard a boom, then felt the house shake, a few minutes later another boom and a shake, one more boom, no shake felt. Don't believe any damage was done.
  • Madison - Just shaking slightly.
  • Madison, ms - Heard bump and felt slight shaking.
  • Kennesaw, GA - low vibrations felt through house for about 30-45 minutes around the same time as this happened around 2 am local time in georgia
  • Madison - Heard sliding doors shaking and small rumbling noise.

    MMI III (Weak shaking) ?
    People :
    Felt indoors; hanging objects may swing, vibration similar to passing of light trucks, duration may be estimated, may not be recognized as an earthquake.
    MMI IV (Light shaking) ?
    People :
    Generally noticed indoors but not outside. Light sleepers may be awakened. Vibration may be likened to the passing of heavy traffic, or to the jolt of a heavy object falling or striking the building.
    Fittings :
    Doors and windows rattle. Glassware and crockery rattle. Liquids in open vessels may be slightly disturbed. Standing motorcars may rock.
    Structures :
    Walls and frames of buildings, and partitions and suspended ceilings in commercial buildings, may be heard to creak.
    MMI V (Moderate shaking) ?
    People :
    Generally felt outside, and by almost everyone indoors. Most sleepers awakened. A few people alarmed.
    Fittings :
    Small unstable objects are displaced or upset. Some glassware and crockery may be broken. Hanging pictures knock against the wall. Open doors may swing. Cupboard doors secured by magnetic catches may open. Pendulum clocks stop, start, or change rate.
    Structures :
    Some large display windows cracked. A few earthenware toilet fixtures cracked.
    MMI VI (Strong shaking) ?
    People Felt by all. People and animals alarmed. Many run outside. Difficulty experienced in walking steadily.
    Fittings :
    Objects fall from shelves. Pictures fall from walls. Some furniture moved on smooth floors, some unsecured free-standing fireplaces moved. Glassware and crockery broken. Very unstable furniture overturned. Small church and school bells ring. Appliances move on bench or table tops. Filing cabinets or "easy glide" drawers may open (or shut).
    Structures :
    Slight damage to buildings with low standard. Some stucco or cement plaster falls. Large display windows broken. Damage to a few weak domestic chimneys, some may fall.
    Environment :
    Trees and bushes shake, or are heard to rustle. Loose material may be dislodged from sloping ground, e.g. existing slides, talus slopes, shingle slides.
    MMI VII (Very strong shaking) ?
    General alarm. Difficulty experienced in standing. Noticed by motorcar drivers who may stop.
    Fittings :
    Large bells ring. Furniture moves on smooth floors, may move on carpeted floors. Substantial damage to fragile contents of buildings.
    Structures :
    Unreinforced stone and brick walls cracked. Low standard buildings cracked with some minor masonry falls. A few instances of damage to buildings of ordinary workmanship. Unbraced parapets, unbraced brick gables, and architectural ornaments fall. Roofing tiles, especially ridge tiles may be dislodged. Many unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, often falling from roof-line. Water tanks Type I burst. A few instances of damage to brick veneers and plaster or cement-based linings. Unrestrained water cylinders (hot-water cylinders) may move and leak. Some common windows cracked. Suspended ceilings damaged.
    Environment :
    Water made turbid by stirred up mud. Small slides such as falls of sand and gravel banks, and small rock-falls from steep slopes and cuttings. Instances of settlement of unconsolidated or wet, or weak soils. Some fine cracks appear in sloping ground. A few instances of liquefaction (i.e. small water and sand ejections).
    MMI VIII (Severe shaking) ?
    People Alarm may approach panic. Steering of motorcars greatly affected. Structures : Low standard buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. ordinary workmanship buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged in some cases. A few instances of damage to buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes. Monuments and pre-1976 elevated tanks and factory stacks twisted or brought down. Some pre-1965 infill masonry panels damaged. A few post-1980 brick veneers damaged. Decayed timber piles of houses damaged. Houses not secured to foundations may move. Most unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, some below roof-line, many brought down. Environment : Cracks appear on steep slopes and in wet ground. Small to moderate slides in roadside cuttings and unsupported excavations. Small water and sand ejections and localized lateral spreading adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
    MMI IX (Violent shaking) ?
    Structures Many low standard buildings destroyed. Ordinary workmanship buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes damaged in some cases, some with flexible frames seriously damaged. Damage or permanent distortion to some buildings and bridges, designed and built to normal use standards. Houses not secured to foundations shifted off. Brick veneers fall and expose frames. Environment : Cracking of ground conspicuous. Landsliding general on steep slopes. Liquefaction effects intensified and more widespread, with large lateral spreading and flow sliding adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
