Update : As expected, NOAA and BMKG have reported that nobody has to fear a tsunami based on this earthquake.

Update : The epicenter of the earthquake is in the middle of the Banda Sea

Update : Very strong to massive very deep quakes are mostly felt in a very wide area (aften more than 1,000 km radius), but are rarely giving a strong shaking. Even the shaking above the epicenter is limied

Update : Data other seismological agencies
BMKG (Indonesia) : 6.8 @ 469 km
GEOFON (Germany) : 6.8 @ 479 km
EMSC (Europe) ; 6.8 @ 472

Update : This earthquake has not the capacity to generate a tsunami as it was very deep in the hot mantle of the earth.
