Quake Flash report : Moderate coastal Costa Rica earthquake

Quake Flash reports are used by Earthquake-Report.com to report on earthquakes which we categorize as 'probably not dangerous', but scared a lot of people living above it. The magnitudes may be in between M 3.0 or M 5.0, depending how used people are to earthquakes in that part of the world.
Earthquake overview : The epicenter of this earthquake is about 20 km out of the Costa Rica coast.

UPDATE 15:33 UTC : Ovisicori Costa Rica has modified the earthquake data and reports now a magnitude of 5.5 instead of the earlier reported 5.1.

Felt reports :
Guacanaste : At beachfront hotel in Guanacaste region in Costa Rica (northern part of country on Pacific side). Felt like about a 3.5, based on years of living in CA.
Location unknown : un premiere secousse de faible intensite suivie d'une seule violente secousse.J'ai vu clairement la stucture de l'immeuble bouger" (translation : a first weak shockwave followed by a much stronger short shock. I saw the building shaking in front of my eyes) - (MMI VI indicated)
Guacanaste : The earthquake here on the Costa Rica's Pacific coast, was two pretty good shakes and then a detectable aftershock.  I was on the third floor of my home on the ocean in Guanacaste and it scared me.  I have lived in Costa Rica for 23 years and this was one of the stronger shakes that I have experienced.  I think it was because the epicenter which just north of us was closer to our home.  I was still in my pajamas early Saturday and just gathered my three dogs and ran outside really fast with no shoes and no cell phone.  The pictures on my walls were moving around and the glasses in the wine rack were shaking pretty good.  When I thought it was safe to come back inside, I came back in and grabed my shoes and cell phone and ran back outside and just waited.  So, although scary, my friend and I did go on and go to the grocery store and lunch which we already had planned.  Thank God we could keep our plans.  Hope we don't have to experience any more shakes anytime soon.  Kind regards, Sharon Stone Gibson, Playa Negra, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
