Although this was only a moderate seaquake,  it must have been a scary experience for the people living in the British Virgin Islands region.
These people know about some minor shocks from time to time, but this earthquake came very close to populated islands. The area is a complex subduction/transform zone making it very difficult to predict whether the quake would be potentially damaging or not.
