Moderate earthquake scares the greater Baguio City (Philippines) population

Update February 3 2013, 07:57 UTC : We have a couple reports from Baguio City reporting up and down shaking, but surprisingly NO seismological agency has reported an earthquake so far, not even a +M3 one. Click here to report us what you have felt.

A seemingly moderate  earthquake has scared many people in Baguio City and surroundings.
Baguio City is one the major cities in the Philippines with a population of 450,526 (2007 census).
A lot of felt reports explained that in some areas near the epicenter, the earthquake was felt as a IV Phivolcs (comparable to a IV MMI) - Phivolcs calls this kind of earthquake "Moderately Strong".

Classes were suspended in 3 schools in Baguio City. Officials of the 3 schools said they were concerned about the safety of their students due to the earthquake.
Following the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) the school department heads decided on the class suspensions.

Rich Estrada, a regular Earthquake-Report reader living in Baguio City told Earthquake-Report that the quake was felt strongly in Baguio City.

OCD teams went around the city Friday morning to assess the damage to property. So far, NO damage or Injuries have been reported.

The data among seismological stations is often very different. Phivolcs (the local Philippines agency) reports for this same earthquake a magnitude of 5 at a depth of 14 km (USGS 4.7 at 53 km).
The shallow depth and the somewhat higher magnitude explains why the local people have felt this earthquake so strongly (less depth and a stronger magnitude are increasing the "felt" value considerably).

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported earlier that the epicenter was approx. 10 kilometers northwest of La Trinidad, Benguet. Some smaller aftershocks not exceeding a magnitude 4 were felt during the hours after the mainshock.

The earthquake was felt at Intensity 4 in Baguio City, Intensity 3 in San Fernando, La Union and Intensity 2 in Burgos, Ilocos Sur.
