UPDATE 12:09 UTC : A very strong aftershock of Magnitude 5.6 / Depth 46 km, occurred  at 11:15 UTC in the sea at a safe distance of the nearest islands. 265 km (165 miles) S of Kagoshima, Kyushu, Japan. Kagoshima prefecture has reported a JMA 3 Seismic Intensity = IV MMI (light shaking).
JMA (Japan) reports a Magnitude of M 5.0 at a depth of 70 km.

Seaquake with epicenter 93 km (58 miles) SE (129°) from Kagoshima, Kyushu, Japan and 97 km (60 miles) S (188°) from Miyazaki, Kyushu, Japan.

The epicenter region is described in Japan as Osumi-hanto Toho-oki and the earthquake was best felt in the Kagoshima prefecture. The following places have been reporting a JMA 3 Seismic Intensity = IV MMI (light shaking) : Kanoya-shi Shin-eicho, Kanoya-shi Fudamoto, Kinko-cho Tashiro-shisho and Kinko-cho Shiromoto.
This earthquake maybe related (but direct relationship has not been proven) to the Kirishima volcano group activity. The volcano is at least 100 km away from the epicenter of this earthquake.

UPDATE 12:46 UTC : After checking many of our sources we can conclude that NO damage has been reported as a result of this earthquake. Therefore we changed the alert level from Orange to Green.
