M 6.5   1979    Depth 13 km    Indonesia (Sumatra) - killing 8 people
Eight people killed and 162 injured.
2,500 homes collapsed or damaged, and damage to other buildings in the Bengkulu area.

M 7.5   1989    Depth 24 km    Philippines - killing 2 people
Two events about 10.5 seconds apart.
At least one person killed and many injured on Mindanao.
Damage (VII RF) at Bislig.
Felt (VI RF) at Cotabato and Davao and (I RF) at Dipolog.
Also felt (IV RF) on Camiguin, (III RF) on Cebu and (I RF) in southeastern Luzon.

M 4.8   1999    Depth 16.2 km    Philippines - killing 1 person
One person killed at Tacloban.
Minor damage (VI RF) at Leyte. Felt (III RF) at Ormoc.
Also felt (II RF) at Borongan, Samar and (II RF) at Lapu-Lapu, Cebu.

M 6.0   2000    Depth 12 km    Turkey - killing 6 people
At least six people killed, 41 injured and some buildings damaged in the Afyon-Bolvadin area.
Felt in much of west-central Turkey.

This page is dedicated to those who lost their life in terrible earthquakes / tsunamis / landslides.
People have forgotten a lot of these human tragedies.
