Deadly earthquakes of November 15 - New Zealand, Algeria and Indonesia

M 6.8   1901    depth ? km    New Zealand - killing 1 people
The earthquake occurred on the 15th UTC time and on the 16th local time.
A child was killed, people were injured and houses damaged. Many landslides on the road van Cheviot to Port Robinson.

M 5.2   1982    depth 7.1 km    Algeria - killing 3 people
Three people killed, 14 injured and 10 houses collapsed in the Tissemsilt area.

M 6.7   1990    depth 30 km    Indonesia - killing 7 people
7 people killed, 32 injured and estimated 2.1 million U.S. dollars damage caused in the Blangkejeren-Kutacane-Medan area.
Landslides occurred in the epicentral area.
Felt at Banda Aceh and Lhokseumawe.
Also felt at Ipoh, Keland, Kuala Lumpur, Pinang and Taiping, Malaysia and Bangkok and Phuket, Thailand.

  1. Phew, what a relief! I saw the Facebook headline of Deadly Earthquakes for November 15 and saw New Zealand, and promptly froze thinking NZ had had another massive quake like last week in Christchurch, and I had missed the Google News Reader notice or the Twitter Tweet about it. What a relief it is to know it happened 109 years ago and only killed one person.
