8 months after the devastating M 8.8 earthquake in Chile, strong aftershocks are continuing to hit the same area.
Today's quake occurred on the mainland in  between Lebu and Canete.
75,000 people may have experienced a V Mercalli value = moderate shaking
180,000 people may have experienced a IV Mercalli value = light shaking
The earthquake happened in the middle of the Chilean night at 2:58 AM. does not expect important damage or injuries as a result of this earthquake.
GDACS issued a GREEN earthquake alert for this earthquake = very limited chance on damage and/or injuries
