Jaltipan de Moreno was completely destroyed augustus 26, 1959.
The earthquake that rocked the city of Jaltipan on Aug. 26, 1959 is now an example of solidarity and joint effort to jaltipanecos in difficult times.
In the city the dead toll was 7 en 200 people were injured, in addition to the destruction of almost all homes.

Thanks to a joint effort from the authorities (cheap loanes) and the local population  of Jaltipan, the town has been reconstructed very fast and is today a modern thriving city.

El sismo que sacudió al municipio el 26 de agosto de 1959 es hoy un ejemplo de la solidaridad y esfuerzo conjunto de los jaltipanecos ante tiempos difíciles, ya que a pesar de los siete muertos y 200 heridos que dejó, además de la destrucción de casi la totalidad de viviendas, el pueblo realizó la reconstrucción de lo que es esta ciudad moderna

“In memory of” is highlighting deadly earthquakes of the past.
People have forgotten a lot of these human tragedies.
