  • Goldau - We thought it was a gust of wind shaking the windows. We haven`t noticed any damage to our property.
  • Ravensburg - keine Schäden

  • Ebikon - Aftershock
  • Civiasco - No damage
  • Engelberg - We're at a hotel in the village, 2nd floor. Clear shaking for couple of seconds, felt it only once.
  • Männedorf - Vibration for few seconds - felt like floor moved
  • Schwyz - Lying in bed and it was shaking for a few seconds. No damage that we have found
  • Gersau - More of a shudder than a tremor.
  • Erlinsbach - Mild shaking, less than a second!
  • Stannstad - No damage, but noticeable
  • Milan - Only felt light tremori as if a bus was passing
  • Zürich - A gentle back and forth shaking movement whilst sitting on sofa, which continued for quite a few seconds.
  • Küsnacht 8700(Zurich) - Küsnacht- gentle back and forth shaking movement whilst sitting on sofa, which continued for quite a few seconds.
  • Engelberg - The hotel rumbled and then it swayed side to side - all in approx 5 seconds.

  • duebendorf - I was sitting on a couch. Felt the couch shaking under me. Glassware was rattling on the living room shelves.
  • Locarno - Was aware of light shaking while seated in office chair. Wife alongside didn't feel it but saw hanging clothing begin to move. No heavy vehicles and no sound, so presumed it was an earthquake. First floor of apartment building. About 21:13 or a few moments before.

  • Lindau - My bed shook up a little bit
  • Oberwil - I was on my bed and felt a quick sinking feeling for about 2 seconds
  • Steinhausen - I felt like there were few waves. Shocking

  • Braunwald - Two strong shakes. I thought the first was something collapsing against our building and I dove under the table right after the second. Lots of people at windows and doors looking outside after the event. I noticed a long crack on a wall in the staircase which I've never seen before. Another weaker shake right now, two hours later.
  • Milano - No damage. And lasted only a few seconds.
  • Pfullendorf - No damage. We felt a few seconds of shaking in our third floor flat.

  • Flims - Appartement building shaken little bit. No damage found yet.
  • Büren NW - i was in bed with my little daughter, we felt the bed and walls shaking about 4 seconds i think... very unpleasant
  • Wil - Felt a shaking,no property damage
  • Berm - Bern - My wife was in the sofa and shakes around 3 Seconds, In the kitchen also the furnitures and lamps. Really weird experience
  • Zurich - No damage. Just a nervous vibration of the house before rolling on... Felt by everyone in the apartment.
  • Schaffhausen - No damage
  • Baden - Apartment, chairs and table shook for few sec. no visible damage.
  • Baar - Felt on 4th floor apartment building- floor shook lightly for few seconds, noticeable motion. Motion distinct from dropped object or wind rattling window.
  • Zurich - it was a light shaking
  • Baar - Noticed light shaking while sitting on the couch of our 4th floor condo.
  • S. Antonino - No damages
  • Manno - House shook for roughly 4-5 seconds. Stronger on upper floor.
  • Zurich - No damage, rather long
  • Zug - Felt side to side movement and liquids in glasses rippled.
  • Lugano - Sitting on the couch and felt the whole house shaking. Things were rattling in the kitchen cupboards for a fee seconds.
  • St.Gallen - my chair was shaking when I was on the phone with my daughter, thought first someone behind me is shaking my chair, but there was no one standing behind me.
  • Basel - Felt quite a strong shake for about 1 second
  • Neuhausen - Felt shaking for 4-5 seconds on the 8th floor. No damage
  • Bern - 6.3.2017 um 21.15h leichtes Beben 1sekunde spürbar. Kein Schaden
  • Stäfa - No damage but anyway i felt it The Vibration was moderate
  • Stockach - Never felt like this before. The couch was shaking under me for 2 second.
  • Meggen - Some shakes in the house! The couch moved!
  • Zürich - Slight shaking
  • Zug - 9th floor apartment felt shaking side to side for about 3 seconds
  • Buochs - Nothing to compare it to. Lying in bed and felt our bed shaking, rocking. The room was shaking.
  • Zurich - Slight shaking as if an overloaded truck was coming by.
  • Beckenried NW - felt the kitchen floor swaying from side to side. Very scary
  • Ebikon - Building moved significantly for about five seconds. Light fittings and other hanging items swinging.
  • Buchs, SG - No damage. I wasn't sure it was an earthquake that I felt, so I googled it :)
  • Freiburg - Movement of the bed for about 3 seconds
  • Melide - Slight shaking of the floor. Felt like a very heavy lorry driving past
  • Olten - I was praying with my model altars and chandeliers when the lights started to swing. The pendelum clocks stopped. I thought it was a very violent one.
  • zug - I came from Japan with lots of experiences with earthquake, it was a light shaking(Japanese index 3, I assume). However knowing the building most likely not made for earthquake absorb system, it was a bit scary...
  • Thalwil - Light shaking felt indoor for few seconds while seating on the sofa
  • Zurich - Couple seconds of light shaking - felt like a very strong wind came up against the building.
  • Zug - Sitting on sofa which moved slightly as if it was gently pushed

  • Siebnen - No damage
  • Sementina - No damage, weak shaking felt on first two floors by all residents.
  • Kloten - Light shaking for approximately 5 seconds Very strange feeling Never experienced before
  • siebnen - the first shaking was strong. duration ca 5 s, then the Corridors vibrate ca between 60-90 seconds.because of wooden house on a cement socket i could feel the vibrating very well after the main shaking.
  • Zug - My first experience of a quake and didnt realise at first as my apartment moved sided to side for about 3-4 seconds

    MMI II (Very weak shaking) ?
    People :
    Felt by persons at rest, on upper floors or favorably placed.
    MMI III (Weak shaking) ?
    People :
    Felt indoors; hanging objects may swing, vibration similar to passing of light trucks, duration may be estimated, may not be recognized as an earthquake.
    MMI IV (Light shaking) ?
    People :
    Generally noticed indoors but not outside. Light sleepers may be awakened. Vibration may be likened to the passing of heavy traffic, or to the jolt of a heavy object falling or striking the building.
    Fittings :
    Doors and windows rattle. Glassware and crockery rattle. Liquids in open vessels may be slightly disturbed. Standing motorcars may rock.
    Structures :
    Walls and frames of buildings, and partitions and suspended ceilings in commercial buildings, may be heard to creak.
    MMI V (Moderate shaking) ?
    People :
    Generally felt outside, and by almost everyone indoors. Most sleepers awakened. A few people alarmed.
    Fittings :
    Small unstable objects are displaced or upset. Some glassware and crockery may be broken. Hanging pictures knock against the wall. Open doors may swing. Cupboard doors secured by magnetic catches may open. Pendulum clocks stop, start, or change rate.
    Structures :
    Some large display windows cracked. A few earthenware toilet fixtures cracked.
    MMI VI (Strong shaking) ?
    People Felt by all. People and animals alarmed. Many run outside. Difficulty experienced in walking steadily.
    Fittings :
    Objects fall from shelves. Pictures fall from walls. Some furniture moved on smooth floors, some unsecured free-standing fireplaces moved. Glassware and crockery broken. Very unstable furniture overturned. Small church and school bells ring. Appliances move on bench or table tops. Filing cabinets or "easy glide" drawers may open (or shut).
    Structures :
    Slight damage to buildings with low standard. Some stucco or cement plaster falls. Large display windows broken. Damage to a few weak domestic chimneys, some may fall.
    Environment :
    Trees and bushes shake, or are heard to rustle. Loose material may be dislodged from sloping ground, e.g. existing slides, talus slopes, shingle slides.
    MMI VII (Very strong shaking) ?
    People
    General alarm. Difficulty experienced in standing. Noticed by motorcar drivers who may stop.
    Fittings :
    Large bells ring. Furniture moves on smooth floors, may move on carpeted floors. Substantial damage to fragile contents of buildings.
    Structures :
    Unreinforced stone and brick walls cracked. Low standard buildings cracked with some minor masonry falls. A few instances of damage to buildings of ordinary workmanship. Unbraced parapets, unbraced brick gables, and architectural ornaments fall. Roofing tiles, especially ridge tiles may be dislodged. Many unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, often falling from roof-line. Water tanks Type I burst. A few instances of damage to brick veneers and plaster or cement-based linings. Unrestrained water cylinders (hot-water cylinders) may move and leak. Some common windows cracked. Suspended ceilings damaged.
    Environment :
    Water made turbid by stirred up mud. Small slides such as falls of sand and gravel banks, and small rock-falls from steep slopes and cuttings. Instances of settlement of unconsolidated or wet, or weak soils. Some fine cracks appear in sloping ground. A few instances of liquefaction (i.e. small water and sand ejections).
    MMI VIII (Severe shaking) ?
    People Alarm may approach panic. Steering of motorcars greatly affected. Structures : Low standard buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. ordinary workmanship buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged in some cases. A few instances of damage to buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes. Monuments and pre-1976 elevated tanks and factory stacks twisted or brought down. Some pre-1965 infill masonry panels damaged. A few post-1980 brick veneers damaged. Decayed timber piles of houses damaged. Houses not secured to foundations may move. Most unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, some below roof-line, many brought down. Environment : Cracks appear on steep slopes and in wet ground. Small to moderate slides in roadside cuttings and unsupported excavations. Small water and sand ejections and localized lateral spreading adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
    MMI IX (Violent shaking) ?
    Structures Many low standard buildings destroyed. Ordinary workmanship buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes damaged in some cases, some with flexible frames seriously damaged. Damage or permanent distortion to some buildings and bridges, designed and built to normal use standards. Houses not secured to foundations shifted off. Brick veneers fall and expose frames. Environment : Cracking of ground conspicuous. Landsliding general on steep slopes. Liquefaction effects intensified and more widespread, with large lateral spreading and flow sliding adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
