Wind continues to affect seismograms at Little Sitkin volcano (Aleutians), but small local events are still apparent on today’s record. (station LSSA)
Small earthquakes have shifted from beneath the western flank to the beneath southern flank of Mammoth Mountain (CA). (station MMP) The red spikes are the result of telemetry interference, not seismicity.
Activity remains very low at Popocatepetl volcano (Mexico) this morning.
Frequent small volcanic earthquakes and tremor pulses rattle both Pacaya and Fuego volcanoes (Guatemala). (station PCG and FG3 respectively)
In El Salvador, numerous volcanic earthquakes rumble within the San Miguel volcano’s plumbing system. What appears to be a period of tremor is actually telemetry interference. (station VSM)
Small aftershocks, from Monday’s M4.6 earthquake, continue in the mid-crust beneath Machin volcano (Colombia) (station CIMA). Small volcanic earthquakes affect Nevado Del Ruiz (station OLLZ) and small volcano-tectonic earthquakes rattle Sotara volcano (station SOSO).
Small earthquakes also affect Tongariro volcano (New Zealand) (local and regional events can be cross-checked on the nearby Ngauruhoe sesimogram), and continuous volcanic tremor hums within White Island volcano this morning.
Recent satellite imagery shows SO2-rich clouds drifting from Nevado Del Ruiz volcano (Colombia), Nyiragongo volcano (DRC) and Manam volcano (New Guinea). A weak SO2 anomaly is visible at Merapi volcano (Indonesia).
