Update 11/09 – 23:55 UTC

- And … 5 more at the end of the day, which makes a total of 21 earthquakes today

Update 11/09 – 17:06 UTC
- 6 more earthquakes until now

Update 11/09 – 13:36 UTC
- 4 more bringing the total on 10 so far, but this time all at 10 or 11 km depth

Update 11/09 – 07:09 UTC
- 6 earthquakes so far today + a couple very shallow ones ! The shallow ones are hopefully due to deformation stress (although deformation is not really changing fundamentally).

Update 10/09 – 22:35 UTC
- A lot of activity during the morning hours faded away in the afternoon and evening, but nevertheless 3 more since our last update

Update 10/09 – 15:04 UTC
- 11 more! All at the 9 to 11 km depth

Update 10/09 – 09:25 UTC
- 4 earthquakes so far today

Update 09/09 – 23:55 UTC
- 1 more earthquake yesterday. At 17:23 a M1.1 at a depth of 10 km

Update 09/09 – 09:00 UTC
- 1 earthquake so far today, a M0.6 at a depth of 10 km to the west of Frontera
- we have just cut a big chunk of the current article and have archived it in Part 51 of this ongoing story (link at the bottom of this page). We will continue following El Hierro as long as the volcanic earthquakes are continuing

Update 08/09 – 23:55 UTC
- A late M1.7 earthquake at a depth of 11 km has to be added on the one from this morning

Update 08/09 – 23:00 UTC
- It looks like the earthquake sequence came to an end today as there were no more earthquakes.

Update 08/09 – 08:19 UTC
- Very minimal action today. Only a M0.9 at a depth of 10 km here

Update 07/09 – 23:55 UTC
- And a final earthquake to be added today bringing the total to 9

Update 07/09 – 21:51 UTC
- 3 earthquakes have been added by IGN after our previous update

Update 07/09 – 10:33 UTC
- 5 earthquakes listed by IGN so far today

Update 06/09 – 20:28 UTC
- The sequence did slow down considerably. Only 4 more earthquakes since last update

Update 06/09 – 07:49 UTC
- 9 earthquakes so far today ! All of them in the range 9 to 10 km deep.

Update 05/09 – 23:55 UTC
- 7 earthquakes have been added by IGN after this last update, bringing the total today on 18, still a lot more than in the pre-swarm period were we had a lot of days without quakes all together. We did remove swarm from the title at 21:01, but we better had waited a couple of hours more.

Update 05/09 – 21:01 UTC
- Only 2 more until now

Update 05/09 – 06:12 UTC
- It looks like a new swarm is on the way as during the first hours of Wednesday, we counted already 9 earthquakes, including a very shallow (2 km) one.
- Vertical deformations are wobbling up and down with no outspoken tendancy.

Update 04/09 – 23:55 UTC
- 4 earthquakes during the evening hours

Update 04/09 – 21:10 UTC
- 2 more earthquakes. 1 of M 0.9 and a stronger M2.0both at a depth of 10 km

Update 04/09 – 06:41 UTC
- 3 earthquakes so far today. All of them occurred with a short delay and were quiet strong for the 10 km range

Update 03/09 – 23:55 UTC
- 4 more to end the day, which brings the total for Monday on 11

Update 03/09 – 15:37 UTC
- 5 more earthquakes !

Update 03/09 – 06:37 UTC
- 2 earthquakes have been listed so far today

Update 02/09 – 23:55 UTC
- 11 more earthquakes, all relatively shallow. Another swarm ? We will have to se the following day if the number of quakes will continue like today.

Update 02/09 – 17:33 UTC
- 3 more earthquakes
- Joke tells us that people living in Sabinosa and in other parts of the El Golfo bay are complaining about strange smells. This goes onfor at least a couple of weeks. ITER and IGN are told to take samples regularly, but the biggest complaint from the population is that nobody tells anything. Those following the events from the beginning do know that this comes not as a surprise to us. Most of the shallow 9-11 km deep quakes are centering in the El Golfo and Sabinosa area.

Update 02/09 – 06:45 UTC
- some more activity so far today – 4 earthquakes have been listed by IGN

Update 01/09 – 18:37 UTC
- 2 more earthquakes

Update 01/09 – 07:07 UTC
- 1 earthquake so far today, a M1.4 at a depth of 9 km west of Frontera
