  • Bacolod City - My computer table shook for around 10-20 seconds. When I went out of the room, the water inside the water dispenser was also shaking.

  • Davao City - Strongest earthquake I've ever felt. Felt like a strong rolling. Nearly lifted me off my feet. We woke the kids and got out of the house. No damage.

  • Tagum City - One Of The Strongest And Longest Earthquake i've ever experienced.
  • Panay, Capiz, PH. - I felt it
  • Baybay Leyte - Around 9PM we felt an earth quake. All of our neighbors felt it and ran outside. It lasted about 3 minutes, it felt like a rolling sensation. No damage happened at our house, we wondered if this area was the epicenter. The lightening and thunder added to the frightening experience. No real damage here and no one that we know is hurt. After we all felt the earth was still moving but nothing was shaking and it seems to be over now.
  • legazpi city, albay - we've experienced the quake too, about 12 mins ago. it lasted about 2 to 3 mins.

  • Virac - Same here in Virac, Catanduanes, about 10mins ago. Not so strong quake but you can feel the building (Midtown Inn) is moving.

  • Laoag City - I was surfing the net then I felt like nauseating, I look around and my bed was shaking, the door of my cabinet was shaking. I think it lasted for more or less than a minute. It's just so scary... :
  • Bacolod City - (I was alone in the living room when I felt the the Chandelier was kinda swaying and I really felt like shaking. :/ God bless Philippines, specially bacolod.

  • Albay - I'm inside the internet cafe when suddenly I felt dizzy. I looked outside and saw the trees were shaking. Customers went outside the cafe calmly.
  • Bacolod City - I was in my computer when my desk swayed, the open doors in two rooms swayed...more than a minute or so...just prayed
  • jaro, iloilo city - i was in bed and noticed my window blinds were shaking.big deal

  • polillo island - the wall clock is shaking i thought it's because of the electric fan but it wasn't, its earthquake it lasted for more or less 30 seconds.

  • tacloban - It knocked over an end table and some things off of shelves. The electricity for the whole city went out for 1 hour. It lasted for 35 seconds. It was the strongest one I felt in the six years I have lived here.

  • cagayan de oro - i was in my room at the 3rd Floor. teary eyed since i was alone and freaking out. my door swayed and i felt like vomiting :
  • Dumaguete City - (we are currently at work in a BPO company. felt the long shakes at 20:58 MNL and they lasted for almost 3 minutes. some of our officemates evacuated the building while we stayed at our workstations. swaying was strongly felt but there was no noise generated by the EQ
  • City Proper, Iloilo City - The earthquake was around an hour ago. it was strong at first. it continued for about 4-5 minutes. maybe about magnitude 3.
  • Cagayan De Oro - That was the strongest earthquake I really felt in my life. Still feeling afraid that our doors would swing harder than before. Really felt dizzy UNTIL 10:25PM. Now I can see that there are still aftershocks. GOD BLESS THE PHILIPPINES.

  • PHILIPPINES - Working online when the building began to sway for about 30 seconds and dishes in the cabinet shaking..Feared it would collapse the building but all is safe Pray for the people living at the epicenter

  • Cebu City - another 7.1 earthquake hit Cebu City for about 1.2 minutes at 8:46pm MNL and 7:46am CST. BPOs are one of the major industry in the overnight hours for cebu. all the centers were evacuated.
  • CEBU - I WAS IN C.R. WHEN VERY STRONG EARTHQUAKE APPEARS. I WAS LIKE "OMAYGOSH, IM GONNA DIE" THEN I IMMEDIATELY POOPSHOOT AND WENT OUTSIDE THE HOUSE WITHOUT MY BRIEF ON. THANK GOD I LIVE.

  • Nueva Vizcaya - Felt shaking for a few seconds around 8:50pm and then it stopped for a few seconds and then again, it shaked! Hanging mirrors were swinging, my couch and the table were also shaking like a light vibration.
  • Surigao City - Just animating with my laptop until a sudden burst of shaking occurred. We were panicking and running outside. The lights turned off and it was total darkness (some people had lights so not really dark). After a brief moment, the lights turned back on. I was already suggesting to my parents to evacuate but it seems like they're just relaxing and saying, "No tsunami is gonna happen". Pissed, but I had to go with it.
  • CDO city - Very LONG quake! Longest quake I've ever experienced! So nauseating!
  • Davao Philippines - At around 8.52pm, I was on the phone with my teacher, talking about the requirements for the next issue of our school paper. In the middle of the call, she felt dizzy. That was when I first started feeling the shaking of the earth. I was at church with my friends then. The strong quake lasted for a minute, and lighter shakes continued for another minute or two.

  • 12th flr, IT Tower 1, Business Park Cebu - It lasted for a couple of minutes. Its a dreadful feeling for I am so bothered on the thought of being so far from the ground and the chances of survival in case the building will collapse.
  • Tacloban City - Our house and everything within shook and swayed for about 5 minutes plus the lights and power went out. Good thing the electricity got back about an hour later.

  • abuyog leyte - our house is shaking strong for about a minute then the shaking get lesser and lesser more than a minute,wew!
  • IT Park Cebu City - I was taking a phonecall with my customer here in the callcenter.. and suddenly I felt everything was shaking... Informed the cust that there is an emergency situation going on so I have to release the call...Released the call and logged.out from my avaya and evacuated from the building and we all went to the open field... after 30 mins... went back to the building, business as usual....
  • Cebu City, Philippines - i just arrive at the office and the building started to shake.. we were asked to evacuate the building then since there was an ongoing earthquake..
  • davao - it got me nuts when i saw the cement cracking and we were at the 7th floor of the mall.. just. no way out.
  • davao city - I was in the third floor of abreeza when the mall started swaying, people ran outside of the building. As i was running I see the glass doors shaking as if it was about to break. Some of the mall's floor tiles were broken. There were many visible cracks on the walls and paint came off.
  • Tacloban City, Leyte PH - We're used to earthquakes here in Tacloban City, Leyte but this time was different. This earthquake was the strongest and longest earthquake I've ever experienced in 30 years. We were on the 4th floor of a hotel having a children's party when it started, the lights went out and the rooftop was still shaking. It seemed it would never end at that moment. Thank God no one panicked and after the long earthquake, we went downstairs and everyone's safe. Hope there's no more aftershock.

    MMI V (Moderate shaking) ?
    People :
    Generally felt outside, and by almost everyone indoors. Most sleepers awakened. A few people alarmed.

    Small unstable objects are displaced or upset. Some glassware and crockery may be broken. Hanging pictures knock against the wall. Open doors may swing. Cupboard doors secured by magnetic catches may open. Pendulum clocks stop, start, or change rate.
    Structures :
    Some large display windows cracked. A few earthenware toilet fixtures cracked.
    MMI VI (Strong shaking) ?
    People Felt by all. People and animals alarmed. Many run outside. Difficulty experienced in walking steadily.
    Fittings :
    Objects fall from shelves. Pictures fall from walls. Some furniture moved on smooth floors, some unsecured free-standing fireplaces moved. Glassware and crockery broken. Very unstable furniture overturned. Small church and school bells ring. Appliances move on bench or table tops. Filing cabinets or "easy glide" drawers may open (or shut).
    Structures :
    Slight damage to buildings with low standard. Some stucco or cement plaster falls. Large display windows broken. Damage to a few weak domestic chimneys, some may fall.
    Environment :
    Trees and bushes shake, or are heard to rustle. Loose material may be dislodged from sloping ground, e.g. existing slides, talus slopes, shingle slides.
    MMI VII (Very strong shaking) ?
    People
    General alarm. Difficulty experienced in standing. Noticed by motorcar drivers who may stop.
    Fittings :
    Large bells ring. Furniture moves on smooth floors, may move on carpeted floors. Substantial damage to fragile contents of buildings.
    Structures :
    Unreinforced stone and brick walls cracked. Low standard buildings cracked with some minor masonry falls. A few instances of damage to buildings of ordinary workmanship. Unbraced parapets, unbraced brick gables, and architectural ornaments fall. Roofing tiles, especially ridge tiles may be dislodged. Many unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, often falling from roof-line. Water tanks Type I burst. A few instances of damage to brick veneers and plaster or cement-based linings. Unrestrained water cylinders (hot-water cylinders) may move and leak. Some common windows cracked. Suspended ceilings damaged.
    Environment :
    Water made turbid by stirred up mud. Small slides such as falls of sand and gravel banks, and small rock-falls from steep slopes and cuttings. Instances of settlement of unconsolidated or wet, or weak soils. Some fine cracks appear in sloping ground. A few instances of liquefaction (i.e. small water and sand ejections).
    MMI VIII (Severe shaking) ?
    People Alarm may approach panic. Steering of motorcars greatly affected. Structures : Low standard buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. ordinary workmanship buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged in some cases. A few instances of damage to buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes. Monuments and pre-1976 elevated tanks and factory stacks twisted or brought down. Some pre-1965 infill masonry panels damaged. A few post-1980 brick veneers damaged. Decayed timber piles of houses damaged. Houses not secured to foundations may move. Most unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, some below roof-line, many brought down. Environment : Cracks appear on steep slopes and in wet ground. Small to moderate slides in roadside cuttings and unsupported excavations. Small water and sand ejections and localized lateral spreading adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
    MMI IX (Violent shaking) ?
    Structures Many low standard buildings destroyed. Ordinary workmanship buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes damaged in some cases, some with flexible frames seriously damaged. Damage or permanent distortion to some buildings and bridges, designed and built to normal use standards. Houses not secured to foundations shifted off. Brick veneers fall and expose frames. Environment : Cracking of ground conspicuous. Landsliding general on steep slopes. Liquefaction effects intensified and more widespread, with large lateral spreading and flow sliding adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
