Second Greater Los Angeles earthquake
The earthquake looks to be almost similar than the first one.
The strongest aftershock (if we consider last night’s earthquake as the mainshock) measured M4.5 was followed by a weaker but still well felt M3.4 aftershock.
This morning’s quake epicenter had also his epicenter below Yorba Linda. So, we clearly talk about the same location and fault line than yesterday night.
Update : 112000 people may have felt a moderate shaking (MMI V) and more than 3 million a light shaking. These are theoretical values. People responding in our site are mostly mentioning in between a weak and a moderate shaking. As you will be able to read below, the earthquakes’s felling is difference because o many factors like kind of structure you are in, the soil below your house or building, the propagation of the wave, the distance to the epicenter etc. + an earthquake is never the same. Although Magnitude, depth and epicenter location were almost the same than yesterday night, a lot of people have felt another kind of shaking.

Strong earthquake in the greater Fiji area
234 km (146 miles) N (353°) from SUVA, Fiji
73 km from Yangganga, Vanua Levu
104 km from Yasawa
A person from Ba, Fiji reported a very weak shaking. We do not expect any problems with this earthquake although the islands closest to the epicenter have felt a strong shaking.
According to USGS the max. shaking was light shaking experienced by 78000 people. This estimate countradicts with people reporting a strong shaking at Vanua Levu island

Moderate earthquake in the greater Los Angeles area
A moderate shallow M4.4 earthquake (preliminary data) occurred at 11:23 PM California time. The epicenter is located at 2 km from Yorba Linda and 7 km from Placenta. 12 km from Orange.
We do not expect any serious damage or injuries based on this earthquake.
Max. moderate shaking has been expected by specialists (MMI V), which seldom generates damage (not even minor)
We expect however aftershocks which may seriously hamper the nights sleep.
Update : As expected by Earthquake-Report.com, the LAPD or Fire brigades have NOT received reports of damage or injuries so far.

Lakewood ca - I felt a strong door that was sllammed so hard followed by minimal shaking of the walls for like 6 to 7 seconds Rancho Cucamonga - I felt it yesterday Aug 8, 2012 at 11.23pm. It was scary, that's why it brought me to this website to confirm that it was not my imagination. Garden Grove - Very strong jolt for about 2 maybe 3 sec not that much to take me out of the bed and check on things kids stay sleep everything was all good alittle cracking on my night stand, but nothing bad La Mirada, CA - Did feel anything at all. What a surprise to know we had several earthquakes and didn't feel any of them here. Long Beach, ca - woke me out of my bed. Eagle Rock,CA - I was in deep sleep didn't feel anything xD Irvine - Just felt an aftershock. Last night was knarly as hell though Irvine, CA - scared me enough to think "is this the big one?" and now it is 9:35 a.m. on 8/8/12 the next morning and ANOTHER one just hit, about the same feeling Korea town, Los Angeles - Building shook slightly for about 5 secs. Long Beach, California - Approx. 9:35 - mild shaking in Long Beach 8/8/12 Covina, CA - Heard lamps rattling Rancho Cucamonga - Small jolt, rolling sensation for a few seconds Manhattan Beach , CA - Felt movement in my office chair, more like sideways type shaking... one of those moments where you are not sure, then you are! Torrance - I just felt one as I was on facebook writing on my cousins update about last nights earthquake. I freeze during earthquakes :/ Azusa, CA - My office shook very briefly Long Beach, Ca - Second one today. Both felt moderate but noticeable. Enough to consider ducking for shelter. Orange Ca - It shook my whole apartment building, the tv was rattling quite a bit. It released after a few seconds. 2 earthquakes in Orange within 12 hours. Hopefully that was only the aftershock. Anaheim, CA - At first, I thought my Dad (sitting on the floor) was shaking the bed, but it got a bit stronger. Definitely shook us up. As well as the one this morning, at approx. 9:30. Santa Ana California - at work -- happened 08/08/2012 09:35 am Cypress - 8-8-2012 9.35 A.M. Started with gentle rolling then had a quick jolt. Second quake within 24 hours. Glendale, CA - I was watching in my computer then suddenly my table move a bit towards me Downtown LA - pretty strong - 12th floor near 5th and Figueroa - scared us a bit! Santa Ana, CA - FELT IN SANTA ANA CA AT 9:35 A.M. 8/8, SHARP JOLT THEN ROLLING. Santa Monica - Thought it was a car driving fast in the parking garage. lol Anaheim - Quick jokt, a little shake and roll then was gone. Felt like a 4 pointer Ontario - Never even got out of bed. My wife and I lay here laughing about how non-californians would have went running for the door. Anyway there have been a few light quakes hee the past day Seal Beach, CA - We felt a moderate sharp shaking this mmorning at about 9"35 A.M. and it frightened me a bit, but had no damage, but it definitely shook our building. We also felt a somewhat smaller shake last evening about ll"30 P.M. 92626 - bump and several shakes, about 9:32am Irvine, CA - At first I thought it was someone walking on the floor above me then I realized it was an earthquake. Garden Grove - Wobbly this time.. some noise San Gabriel, CA - I was sitting at my desk writing when I felt a jolt, I immediately got under my desk where some candy and water was stored, but didn't think there would be an aftershock, so got out. Felt a little longer as the vibration works its way through the structure. Fontana,Ca - Felt a little rumble from our 2nd story floor at work. Huntington Beach - 12th floor shaking Hermosa Beach - I was in office one story up from ground. Just a swaying - but enough to make me a bit nauseous. Monrovia - It felt like someone sat on my bed. Claremont - Sharp jolt. Our 3 year old dog, got up from his rest wondering what happened? Brea, CA - I think it's stronger than last night's Orange Park Acres - The one at about 11:30 pm woke me up - jolt to the house, rolling sensation for a few seconds, then about a half minute or so of vibrations. I never got out of bed, the baby didn't even wake up. I don't even sit up unless they last more than 10 seconds or give considerable shaking (I grew up in socal in the 80s/90s, I'm used to them)!! Santa Ana, California - Felt My chair shaking at about 10:30ish last night, as well as another shake at around 9:30 A.M today. Paramount - a jolt, then rolling for a few seconds in Paramount at 9:35 am Pomona, California - I was lying in bed dozing when I was startled by strong shaking. It lasted a few seconds, not long enough for me to be scared. Irvine, CA - Just felt it too at 9:36. Scary. Korea Town/ Mid Wilshire - I felt a little jolt and thenthe building was kind of rocking for a few seconds. I am on the 8th floor of a 13th floor high rise building. Covina - Felt nothing last night in San Dimas and felt nothing this morning at work in Covina. I must be too fat Orange, CA - Felt worse than 4.5 South Pasadena - it was a shake and later a roll. Just felt another earthquake a little shake in SOuth Pasadena Wednesday August 8 935am PST Paramount - Jolt then rolling for a few seconds. California - There was one last night, too. Felt like both were about the same strength but this one lasted a tad longer. Aliso Viejo - More rolling than shaking Orange, CA - Sitting at work and felt a jolt and then some rolling. Grew up in California. They don't phese me much. La Mirada - i was at my desk i just felt a jolt and some shaking Santa Ana 92704 - Single lateral jolt West to East at 9:35 am Stronger than the 4.4 earlier. Lake Elsinore - Actually this one just happened here about 9:37 approx. Not sure if its new local or large aftershock of last night. The quake this morning was jagged and.then rolling. My container on the deck table rolled about another minute then stopped. Orange, Ca - I was working on a deck and heard and felt the shaking worse than the one from last night about 5-10 min ago Santa Ana - felt a light rolling shake which lasted fairly long but not sure if it was the rollers of our building allowing that extended movement. We are here at the twin towers opposite the Sheriff's building in Sta Ana, CA La Puente, CA - Big jolt, cracking noises, dog barked approx. 3 minutes before it hit and a whole lot when it did. (This was his first earthquake.) Pomona CA 91767 - ABOUT 9:40AM 8/08/2012 I FELT A MODERATE SHACKING. THET SAID IT WAS M4.0 SAME AS THE ONE LAST NIGHT AT 11:23PM. I DID NOT FEEL THE ONE LAST NIGHT, BUT I HEARD IT, AND MY WIFE FELT IT. Altadena - I felt a very weak jolt while sitting at my desk and I was slightly dizzy. I wasn't sure it was an earthquake so I looked it up here. Around 9:35 or 9:40AM 8/08/2012 92808 - Windows shaking but no damage Orange, CA - One big shake and I thought it was the big one. Anaheim - Felt it here are work in Anaheim. Shook ground for several seconds. Fullerton - Noisy shake Newport Beach, CA - Felt a rolling/shaking sensation for about 5-7 seconds, items in the hutch were rattling as well. Bellflower, CA - was @work on the phone with shipping company when I felt my chair moving in a circular motion. Looked around and nothing was moving but I was still moving, it almost felt like I was losing my balance & about to faint. The sensation lasted about 15 seconds. Very scary O.O Corona - Felt a good strong jolt followed by about 5 seconds of side to side shaking at 9:33 this morning (8-8-12). I actually saw the walls move. Much stronger than last night. Placentia, CA - I was on my cell actually talking about last night earthquake. Now typing this I just felt the aftershock. Santa Ana - i was eating breakfast when i just felt the table moving nothing big. La Puente Ca. - Fast shake, dogs barking nothing major. West Los Angeles - Felt the rolling motion and got a little dizzy. Cypress, CA - Second one within 24 hours. Started with gentle rolling then a harder jolt. The office building is on rollers so the swaying may have been exaggerated. Long Beach - was sitting at my desk. it seemed to be a rolling one. At least here in Long Beach. near Anaheim Hills - was like a vertical thrust from weak to strong, like a big trailer truck running past a road and you're just right beside it. Brea CA - Ok felt that one too. And let me just say, if you really want to experience a stronger earth quake, (or it's after shock at approx 9:51 am) get to the third floor. That'll really knock you off your feet. Commerce, CA - strong jolt not much shaking Costa Mesa, CA - Big jolt, shaking, rolling after. Newport Beach - My mac monitor was shaking before me...I was justing looking around at everything in my house moving...side to side-ish. Boyle Heights - Heard the ceiling cracking then felt the jolt. Orange - Orange, California = I was awaken by a very strong jolt that lasted just a few seconds around 11:25 pm on Tue-August 7, 2012. I checked the internet right away and read that there was an earthquake of 4.4 in the Greater Los angeles area. Laguna Niguel - Just had waken up from sleep and the room started shaking. Newport Beach, CA - ROLLING SENSATION LASTING 20 SECONDS. KEPT ON ROLLING DIDN'T WANT TO STOP. VERY SCARED NOW. Pomona, CA - Felt a little roll and then a quick jolt. North East los angeles - STRONG SHAKE! Laguna Niguel - I thought last night's rattle was enough but there was slight shaking going on this morning around 9:30 Ladera Ranch CA - I felt a small tremble. didn't really realize it until i saw the bobble heads on my desk shaking too. Diamond Bar - Strong shaking with a loud boom followed by a aftershock Torrance - Very weak shaking/rolling on second floor of an office building. Could easily mistake as a heavy truck driving by outside. Lasted about 3 seconds. No sudden jolt. Los Angeles,California USA - I HATE EARTHQUAKES East Whittier, CA - Stronger rolling that last night's and twice the duration. Pets ran to back of yard furthest from house. I'll take a lesson. Long Beach, CA - I was lying on the couch watching a movie when the couch started shaking. It lasted about a minute and a half. La Mirada - strong shaking and then it lingered with what felt like waves... Newport Beach, CA - Sitting in front of my work desk when it happened. Inglewood, CA - The building where I work usually shakes, but this shake was little harder and the blinds moved more and it also continued to shake longe than usual. So, got under my desk. Rancho Cucamonga - Aftershock at 937 this morning? Walls and windows creaked followed by the bed rumbling about 4 seconds. Orange, CA - On the 12th floor at the office a little rolling, and shaking nothing serious. Others scared Pomona, CA - I didn't feel the one last night at 11pm, but at around 9:38 this morning, I sat down by the bed after putting my kids on it, when I felt a strong shake and then gentle rocking. Both my husband and I run to cover the kids. Pico Rivera, CA - Felt this earthquake last night around 11:30. Sitting in bed felt it shake side ways, could see room & everything in it shake sideways (in 1 floor house). Nothing serious, electricity (tv, ac, light) not bothered but it wasn't short, shaking didn't stop for at least 1 minute. Smaller earthquake this morning only half woke me up, familie's fear to run in here to wake me up did. These are small earthquakes, if it was worse the electricity would've shut off &/or there would be alerts on tv Gardena - I was sitting in my room when i felt the ground shake Downey, CA - Heard the wooden furniture cracking Studio City - Was watching the olympics with a friend when the building started shaking. Felt like it lasted a bit. We sat back & held onto the furniture in case it got worse. Placentia, CA 92870 - Yorba Linda is just a couple of miles from here, this was scary! This morning's quake was at least as strong as last night's! Our apt. building was jolted, then swayed. We're used to Calif. quakes, but never lived on the third floor of an apt. before. Diamond Bar - Felt 2 jolts last night one right after the other while in bed. This AM again 2 jolts together causing a movement of my chair in garage. Costa Mesa, CA - In my office. Felt like one big jolt to me. Montebello, CA - I'm on the second floor,I felt a slight wavy motion. I keep feeling them, they're not as strong. Los Angeles - I was seating at my computer and then I felt a small rolling motion and looked at my wife in the dinning room and our hanging lamp was moving slightly. It only lasted for approximately 3 to 4 seconds Lancaster, CA - On 08/07 actually only heard the house creak and crackle. Thought it was one of the strong winds we get here in the AV. Redlands - Windowsmade cracking noises. Only a slight jolt La Verne - Both last night and this mornings quakes were felt with jolts. A first light jolt then a moderate one. We seem to be at the very top of this fault. Thousand Oaks, CA - Felt it and knew it was an earthquake. Brea, CA - I felt shake around my table, the building office was loud rattling. Brea, CA - Felt shaking and building ratting for 7 seconds..It's fast... West Covina - Very similar to last nights quake, but this one felt like it was longer in duration. Whole house shuddered. Felt like a double bump. Freaked the cats out! Was sitting at my computer desk when it hit this morning. Pico Rivera - i was at my computer and felt the whole ground start shaking,moving Pomona, CA - Sitting eating breakfast and the house kind of jumped up and down with a bang. It was over in one thrust. Seal Beach - It felt the same as the one the night before, a little more than light shaking. Newbury Park, CA - I had just gone to bed around 11pm and felt shaking for about 3-4 seconds. Also, just wanted to mention. Don't know if its related but I have heard of these types of things preceding an earthquake. I was on the beach in Ventura yesterday (8-7-12) and heard a low frequency booming pulse (like a heartbeat) coming from out in the ocean. Heard it twice...just before 12:45 pm for about 3-4 minutes and again at 1pm for 3-4 minutes. not waves/not train/not subwoofer, came from the ocean. interesting. Glendora,CA - a quick jolt- it startled me. I heard it before I felt it Riverside - couch i was on and fish tank was moving Valley Village, CA - Felt both this on and last nights. Woke up this morning to the 9:35 quake and layed there as my bed jumped twice and then slowly shook. Nothing serious, but got up to check the news. Not to usual to get 2 earthquakes in 24 hours here. Well, at least noticable ones that is. Fallbrook West of HWY 15 - I felt one small shake around midnight and a much stronger multiple shaking this morning 8/8/12. Left no doubt that it was an earthquake. I live on the second floor and there are long wood spans for underneath floor support, so it picks up vibration too well! Crenshaw - I also felt the one yesterday which was about the same. Anaheim,ca - Both earthquakes were strong over here woke let's up it felt like my house got hit 92841 - shook my bed and woke me Fullerton, CA - My flower vase knocked over. D: La Habra - Strong quick jolt actually to me felt a little stronger than last nights. Santa Ana - last night what sounded like a bomb woke me up along with a jolt that pushed me and my bed inches from the wall on a wood floor, that really loud boom was scary and didn't seem like other quakes Santa Ana - i don't remember any other earthquakes starting with a scary strong boom that had a lot of energy and was so loud and jolting like the one at 11123 p.m. does anyone else think that was a weird one? Yorba Linda, CA - Was at home watching TV with my 2 young children. Felt a jerk and then rolling and a loud crashing noise. My 4 year old asked if the house was going to crash down! Ceiling lamp swaying back and forth and a toy horse began to neigh!! east palmdale - around 10pm tuesday nite felt vibrating in my mobile home and my neighbors clock shook off the wall. Huntington Beach - Just felt a roll..just gave a dizzy feeling..hanging lamps swung.. Santa Ana, CA - At the LA Fitness last night I heard a loud crash noise almost like to automobiles. Then felt weak shaking as I was sitting between reps of incline bench press. Diamond Bar - More of a jolt than shaking. Only lasted a few seconds. La Habra,Ca - My daughter was eating cereal and her bowl started to spill milk from all of the shaking. No Damage done, moderate shaking. Riverside - Was in my cubicle, and I thought some prick was rocking my chair.

Leo Carrillo Beach, Ca. - Low frequency booms like Jurassic Park or bombs. No shaking, just sound. Many people spooked. Today Aug. 7 2012 at around 12:30 pm. Several booms over 1/2 hour until we left. Bordentown, NJ - My bed and wall were shaking for less than a minutd Los Feliz, CA - I'm at my desk, which started shaking. Otherwise, no problems such as electricity outages, etc. Los Alamitos, Ca - Very quick and weak shaking for a couple of seconds. Had to double check to see if it was a earthquake. Water in glass was slightly moving. Furniture moves on smooth floors, may move on carpeted floors. Substantial damage to fragile contents of buildings. Structures : Unreinforced stone and brick walls cracked. Low standard buildings cracked with some minor masonry falls. A few instances of damage to buildings of ordinary workmanship. Unbraced parapets, unbraced brick gables, and architectural ornaments fall. Roofing tiles, especially ridge tiles may be dislodged. Many unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, often falling from roof-line. Water tanks Type I burst. A few instances of damage to brick veneers and plaster or cement-based linings. Unrestrained water cylinders (hot-water cylinders) may move and leak. Some common windows cracked. Suspended ceilings damaged. Environment : Water made turbid by stirred up mud. Small slides such as falls of sand and gravel banks, and small rock-falls from steep slopes and cuttings. Instances of settlement of unconsolidated or wet, or weak soils. Some fine cracks appear in sloping ground. A few instances of liquefaction (i.e. small water and sand ejections).
MMI VIII (Severe shaking)	? People Alarm may approach panic. Steering of motorcars greatly affected. Structures : Low standard buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. ordinary workmanship buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged in some cases. A few instances of damage to buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes. Monuments and pre-1976 elevated tanks and factory stacks twisted or brought down. Some pre-1965 infill masonry panels damaged. A few post-1980 brick veneers damaged. Decayed timber piles of houses damaged. Houses not secured to foundations may move. Most unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, some below roof-line, many brought down. Environment : Cracks appear on steep slopes and in wet ground. Small to moderate slides in roadside cuttings and unsupported excavations. Small water and sand ejections and localized lateral spreading adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
MMI IX (Violent shaking)	? Structures Many low standard buildings destroyed. Ordinary workmanship buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes damaged in some cases, some with flexible frames seriously damaged. Damage or permanent distortion to some buildings and bridges, designed and built to normal use standards. Houses not secured to foundations shifted off. Brick veneers fall and expose frames. Environment : Cracking of ground conspicuous. Landsliding general on steep slopes. Liquefaction effects intensified and more widespread, with large lateral spreading and flow sliding adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.

I live in Escondido, California and around that time I felt a gentle bump like someone bumped into me and I woke up and looked around and wondered was I dreaming. Everything seemed ok so I fell back asleep. When I heard the news this am I didn’t hear of anyone this far south feeling anything but I’m certain I did.
