  • Bocas - Hard shaking. Pictures and things on counter moved.
  • Panamá - Weak shaking in Panamá
  • Panama City - Dec 8, 2014 around 3:55 a.m. we felt a fairly strong quake. It was strong enough to make our parrot fall off of her perch and cause everything on the shelves to rattle loudly. I was in a rolling chair at my desk when it happened and got rolled around a little. The bird is fine, we are okay, and nothing was broken in our house.

  • Uvita - Woke us up in our hotel above Uvita.
  • San Carlos Panama - No damage that I am aware of. Building was swaying and I could hear water sloshing. Reservoir on roof I think - not sure. Seemed to last at least 30 seconds after I woke.
  • Boquete - Woke to about 30-45 seconds of shaking in our hotel room at The Haven. Pictures and bed swaying, but no damage.
  • Cocles de Puerto Viejo de Talamanca - I was awakened on the second story by the wooden house shaking and creaking. The shaking seems to have unbalanced a ceiling fan that was on and is now squeaking and wobbling. No other damage has been noticed.
  • Boquete, Chiriqui - Just before 4 am everyone in the house woke to shaking of the house. Things rattled, and my young daughter fell out of bed (she's fine) but nothing broke or fell of the wall. ER: Wow! Luckily nobody hurt

  • Quetzaltenango - At first I thought wind was shaking the hostel in which we were staying, but bed is on a concrete floor & chandelier swung (via emsc)
  • Guatemala City - Seemed not to last as long as the earthquake this morning at 0611 but was felt stronger. (via emsc)
  • Guatemala City - It was a fairly long earthquake compared to the other two today. I'd say it lasted 45 seconds.(via emsc)
  • Antigua - More pronounced than the earlier quake same day, and seemed to last longer. There were several "shudders" or wave-like feelings passing through the house in several waves throughout the shaking event. We felt the house move back and forth pretty vigorously but nothing fell or was broken (home is built to CA earthquake standards). It was alarming because while we expected aftershocks, this one was stronger than the first one today, which woke several of our family up around 6:15 am.
