  • Braga - Not a big deal...
  • Porto - Sobrevivi e gostei.
  • Porto - short
  • Aguas Santas - I Felt A (not Listed) Earthquake
O candeeiro do tecto do quarto abanou. Resido em Gondomar.
  • Vila Nova de Gaia - Not used to this experience but heard noise and then a few things shaked... glad it was only an M 3.1!!!
  • Portugal - I was in my closed balcony when I felt the windows shaking strongly for a second...
  • Porto - i though it was a bus passing by but after that i realized it was an earthquake because it was stronger
  • Valongo - Strong earthquake but very quick.
  • Maia - Small shaking, about 4 to 5 seconds.
  • Vila Nova de Famalicao - Our plant is located near a train station, that's why we first thought that it was a train, thus we did not paid much attention to it... except that the door was a bit more shaked than in usual time.
  • Gondomar - Boa tarde.
  • vila novas de gaia - It was like an underground train passing below, with floor shaking
  • Paço de Sousa - I was inside my house and felt it for 2/3s, no objects fell but the windows shook violently. At first i thought it was just a big truck passing by. (via emsc)
(via emsc)
  • Porto - some shaking for a couple seconds and a distant thunder like noise. people reaction is understandable because Porto seismic activity is virtually zero.
  • Travagem S. Pedro do fins(Maia) - Simplesmente senti três tremores mas algo que deu para ficar Alerta, Principalmente o pessoal do 1º andar, pois segundo eles a estrutura tremeu bastante.
  • Maia - Probably lasted for about 1 minute felt like a large truck passing, shaking glass and non secure fixtures.
  • Matosinhos - We heard a loud sound and felt a 'thump'. Initially we wondered whether the neighbours upstairs were moving furniture. It was very quick and we didn't realise at first that it was an earthquake. Nothing in the place moved and no windows shook.
  • Portugal - it seems like an explosion
  • Villa Nova de Gaia - Felt like a train passing, Was just a small jolt that shook my bed.
  • vila nova de gaia - My family in the other room were playing and did not feel the earthquake, while I sat in the kitchen and did quite notice the shake. I'm from Southern California and thought it resembled what I've experienced before.

  • Burgau, Algarve - I was lying in bed dealing with a migraine headache. I had looked at the clock very recently, at 17:51. A short while later I felt the bed shake, lasting about three seconds. There was no sound associated with it. It is extremely windy here today with strong gusts but there was no gust at the time that the bed shook. I'm on the second floor of a three storey condominium building that was built about five or six years ago.

    People :
Felt by persons at rest, on upper floors or favorably placed.
    MMI III (Weak shaking) ?
    People :
Felt indoors; hanging objects may swing, vibration similar to passing of light trucks, duration may be estimated, may not be recognized as an earthquake.
    MMI IV (Light shaking) ?
    People :
Generally noticed indoors but not outside. Light sleepers may be awakened. Vibration may be likened to the passing of heavy traffic, or to the jolt of a heavy object falling or striking the building.
    Fittings :
Doors and windows rattle. Glassware and crockery rattle. Liquids in open vessels may be slightly disturbed. Standing motorcars may rock.

Very unstable furniture overturned. Small church and school bells ring. Appliances move on bench or table tops. Filing cabinets or "easy glide" drawers may open (or shut).
    Structures :
Slight damage to buildings with low standard. Some stucco or cement plaster falls. Large display windows broken. Damage to a few weak domestic chimneys, some may fall.
    Environment :
Trees and bushes shake, or are heard to rustle. Loose material may be dislodged from sloping ground, e.g. existing slides, talus slopes, shingle slides.
MMI VII (Very strong shaking) ?
    People
General alarm. Difficulty experienced in standing. Noticed by motorcar drivers who may stop.
    Fittings :

Unreinforced stone and brick walls cracked. Low standard buildings cracked with some minor masonry falls. A few instances of damage to buildings of ordinary workmanship. Unbraced parapets, unbraced brick gables, and architectural ornaments fall. Roofing tiles, especially ridge tiles may be dislodged. Many unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, often falling from roof-line. Water tanks Type I burst. A few instances of damage to brick veneers and plaster or cement-based linings. Unrestrained water cylinders (hot-water cylinders) may move and leak. Some common windows cracked. Suspended ceilings damaged.
    Environment :
Water made turbid by stirred up mud. Small slides such as falls of sand and gravel banks, and small rock-falls from steep slopes and cuttings. Instances of settlement of unconsolidated or wet, or weak soils. Some fine cracks appear in sloping ground. A few instances of liquefaction (i.e. small water and sand ejections).

Most unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, some below roof-line, many brought down. Environment : Cracks appear on steep slopes and in wet ground. Small to moderate slides in roadside cuttings and unsupported excavations. Small water and sand ejections and localized lateral spreading adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
    MMI IX (Violent shaking) ?
Structures Many low standard buildings destroyed. Ordinary workmanship buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged, some with partial collapse.
