  • Yangon - Water sloshing around in fish tank.
  • Patna - No damage to my knowledge
  • Yangon - Felt it on the 3rd floor of office building in capital Yangon. Weak shaking of the floor.

  • Kolkata - Powerful one
  • Dhaka - I was lying down and felt the shaking for a few seconds. Probably 5 to 7 seconds
  • Yangon - Felt it on the 3rd floor of office building in capital Yangon. Weak shaking of the floor.
  • Yangon - SITTING IN A CHAIR AND THEN FELT THE SHAKES, KNEW THAT IT WAS AN EARTHQUAKE
  • Dhaka - no damages
  • Kolkata - very weak shaking
  • Yangon - Some shaking to the building
  • Bangkok - Was felt in high towers. Buildings were balancing, no shaking.
  • Yangon - Undulations felt on 8th floor, like being on a boat. Continued for 20-30seconds
  • Yangon - Light tremors for about 15 seconds. Intensity in Yangon felt about 5
  • Bangkok - Felt it in 27th floor
  • Kolkata - Felt this from Kolkata. I was sitting on a chair and it was shaking.
  • KOlkata - was in office. It was more than 15-20 second long. The quake stayed the whole time we realized, panicked and climbed down the stairs from fourth floor.
  • Yangon - I was on 2nd Floor of the building
  • Yangon - On 11th floor office and felt swaying with blinds and hanging objects swinging
  • Naypyidaw - dazzy
  • Yangon - no damage in Yangon
  • Inle Lake - Alles schudde op en neer. Te voelen door heel het resort
  • Yangon - Sitting in a deserted office on the first floor at a computer felt the floor tremble slightly for a few seconds. No damage and probably imperceptible if I'd been in a crowded office walking around, but was sitting at a computer on a desk chair and felt the floor vibrate for about three seconds under my feet.

  • Imphal - No damage at all to buildings etc but shaking- and electrical fittings around the house such as chandeliers jangled.

  • Dhaka - It vibrated for a good 30 seconds
  • greater noida - Around IST 9:20am. I was lying on the bed. And felt a little dizzy. Nothing in the news as such.
  • Kolkata - Bed and furnitures were shaking
  • Dhaka - I am safe
  • Howrah - No damage to property, but felt twice between 19:25 and 19:30 hrs
  • Dhaka - Significant shaking for a good bit of time, but nothing displaced or broken.

  • imphal - It is as strong as was on 7th january
  • dhaka - new year is enjoying with earthquake..ALLAH HO AKBER
  • Dhaka - It almost felt like that the everything on the computer table is going to fall down. I had to hold my monitor to stop it from falling down. I probably would have ran out of the building if my computer casing started to shake.
  • Tezpur, Assam - I am anyway seismophobic. So every time there's an earthquake, it's a bad experience for me!
  • Dhaka - I thought my house was gonna fall apart. Man that feels like at least a 7.5 to me.
  • Kolkata - This was a second experience for me.. And it was not quite scary. But people did panic.
  • Ngwesaung Beach - We are in our Hotel room second floor. Bed and walls started shaking at 2035 lcl time.
  • Dhaka - I was at coaching my centre studying and we felt the tables and chairs shake.
  • Ngwesaung Beach - Bed and walls were shaking at ca. 2035 lcl time.
  • Guwahati - The duration was about 60 sec and was very scary.
  • Kolkata - This was a second experience for me.. And it was not quite scary. But people did panic.
  • Lhasa - I was sitting in my room and feel mino shaking and than light shaking, can hear sounds from window frame and walled furnitures which last few seconds. It was 22:00 local time. The hotel later confirmed this earthqake.
  • Silchar - It was a massive earthquake...
  • Kharagpur - Bed was moving
  • Imphal - It was 3 min earthquake around 7:25 pm ( local time)
  • Kolkata - Lasted for around 1 min
  • Dimapur - Ooooo Omg feel like i was going to fall
  • Kathmandu - felt swaying left to right then it shifted front to back swaying. lasted much longer than the quake we felt on the 9th here in Kathmandu
  • Dhaka - Small piece of my apartment broke off. All the cars were moving
  • Paro - Uma Hotel, Paro. Lt to mod.
  • City - It was very scary.....
  • Kolkata - Couch was lightly moving, stopped then lightly moved again
  • Dhaka - Window cracked
  • Jorhat - The Earth just shook for nearly 40 sec nd the earthquake came in 2 diffrent waves the second wave was longer then the first building, trees nd other structures moved in periodic movement. Luckly no damage is seen till now in this area.....
  • Ngapali - Two tremors, seemed to be a minute or so apart, no damage
  • aizawl mizoram - No serious damages as far as I can know I can hear it sound it's like roar
  • Biratnagar - It was okay. None of my property were damaged
  • Kathmandu - No damage at all but we felt it.. I was in room and my bed and hanger was shaking..
  • Jorhat - It was quite frightening. We ran out to the verandah and hugged the main pillar for support instead of running out to the road. Also we switched off all the electrical components.
  • Kharagpur - Table and chair where I was working were shaking uncomfortably for at least ten seconds. There is no apparent damage.
  • Kolkata - I was on my bed and the bed was shaking mildly. At first it was relatively weak and was steady for 5 seconds. Then I stood up and saw the ceiling fan was wobbling and everything was swaying. This time it was a shaky one
  • CHERRAPUNJEE - AT OFFICE WITH 4 PEOPLES IN SAME BUILDING, FELT AS FLIGHT WAS FLOWING OVERBUILDING.AND IN A SECOND OR SO THE ENTIRE BUILDING WAS SHAKING.THANKS GOD NO CASUALITY
  • Nay Pyi Taw - Most of the people who live in our story are going down to building.
  • Bhalokpong - This was the longest one I have felt yet It stopped for about 5min and it continued.... The whole building was vibrating... I thought some heavy vehicle was passing by but to realise that it is nothing than an earthquake. I had leave my dinner on the table rushed out... Infact this was like a pre warning of the mother earthquake.
  • imphal - My sitting chair was shaking left to right, my dad's went under the bed to escape out from the falling of bricks and other materials from the roof or wall I just sit quite while around after 1 and half min. it just stop.
  • Tripura - It a very strongly earthquake I fell even the ground is shaking
  • Dimapur - Its was terrifying
  • DHAKA - Really strong I felt it while sitting in chair I mean first time to feel that strong.
  • DIPHU - I WAS ON MY WAY TO THE MARKET WITH MY FRIENDS. SUDDENLY, THE ROAD WAS SHAKING & THE PEOPLE WERE ALL CAME TO THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD,EVEN THE VEHICLES WERE STOPPED FOR THERE WERE NO PLACE TO DRIVE ON. EVERYONE WERE PANICKED. AND ALL THE FACES WERE SAD. EVEN I WAS VERY AFRAID. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I WAS SO AFRAID OF EARTHQUAKES IN MY LIFE. I THOUGHT OF GOD & ON THE OTHER HAND NEPAL ONLY.....
  • Thimphu - Felt the shaking at 8 pm local time in Thimphu, Bhutan. It went on for more than 20 seconds. Ran out of the building on the second jolt.
  • Kolkata - I was attending a function, when I suddenly realized that the chairs were moving, and along with them me. there was no damage, but it was scary...
  • Imphal - The quake if lasted a little longer could have done a lot of damages including taking a lot of lives. I just came out of the bathroom and the whole world just started shaking and I could hear a lot of noises like things were clanking amongst themselves. I stood still and experienced myself shaking shaking and the neighbor's building was swaying.
  • Village - At Tsaru village, little bit shake but no damage. Thank God
  • Kolkata - I was sitting on my bed waiting for the toss for the clash btw mi and kkr. I felt that something is shaking at high intensity although it was moderate and thankfully no damage done.

  • Jessore - I felt it for 5 seconds with light shaking
  • Yangon - Couch shook. TV moved a bit. Shook, stopped. shook again.
  • Bagan - Felt while eating outside.
  • Ngwesaung Beach - We are in second floor in our room. Bed started shaking.
  • Gurgaon - Am in office and felt the chair shaking
  • Mandalay - no damage
  • Dhaka - Well, I am not sure on how strong is strong. The building was shaking, and lasted around 15 seconds. No property damage.
  • Dhaka - Gentle tremors for a few seconds and then followed by very strong pulses. More rhythmic, than a violent shake.

    MMI II (Very weak shaking) ?
    People :
    Felt by persons at rest, on upper floors or favorably placed.
    MMI III (Weak shaking) ?
    People :
    Felt indoors; hanging objects may swing, vibration similar to passing of light trucks, duration may be estimated, may not be recognized as an earthquake.
    MMI IV (Light shaking) ?
    People :
    Generally noticed indoors but not outside. Light sleepers may be awakened. Vibration may be likened to the passing of heavy traffic, or to the jolt of a heavy object falling or striking the building.
    Fittings :
    Doors and windows rattle. Glassware and crockery rattle. Liquids in open vessels may be slightly disturbed. Standing motorcars may rock.
    Structures :
    Walls and frames of buildings, and partitions and suspended ceilings in commercial buildings, may be heard to creak.
    MMI V (Moderate shaking) ?
    People :
    Generally felt outside, and by almost everyone indoors. Most sleepers awakened. A few people alarmed.
    Fittings :
    Small unstable objects are displaced or upset. Some glassware and crockery may be broken. Hanging pictures knock against the wall. Open doors may swing. Cupboard doors secured by magnetic catches may open. Pendulum clocks stop, start, or change rate.
    Structures :
    Some large display windows cracked. A few earthenware toilet fixtures cracked.
    MMI VI (Strong shaking) ?
    People Felt by all. People and animals alarmed. Many run outside. Difficulty experienced in walking steadily.
    Fittings :
    Objects fall from shelves. Pictures fall from walls. Some furniture moved on smooth floors, some unsecured free-standing fireplaces moved. Glassware and crockery broken. Very unstable furniture overturned. Small church and school bells ring. Appliances move on bench or table tops. Filing cabinets or "easy glide" drawers may open (or shut).
    Structures :
    Slight damage to buildings with low standard. Some stucco or cement plaster falls. Large display windows broken. Damage to a few weak domestic chimneys, some may fall.
    Environment :
    Trees and bushes shake, or are heard to rustle. Loose material may be dislodged from sloping ground, e.g. existing slides, talus slopes, shingle slides.
    MMI VII (Very strong shaking) ?
    People
    General alarm. Difficulty experienced in standing. Noticed by motorcar drivers who may stop.
    Fittings :
    Large bells ring. Furniture moves on smooth floors, may move on carpeted floors. Substantial damage to fragile contents of buildings.
    Structures :
    Unreinforced stone and brick walls cracked. Low standard buildings cracked with some minor masonry falls. A few instances of damage to buildings of ordinary workmanship. Unbraced parapets, unbraced brick gables, and architectural ornaments fall. Roofing tiles, especially ridge tiles may be dislodged. Many unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, often falling from roof-line. Water tanks Type I burst. A few instances of damage to brick veneers and plaster or cement-based linings. Unrestrained water cylinders (hot-water cylinders) may move and leak. Some common windows cracked. Suspended ceilings damaged.
    Environment :
    Water made turbid by stirred up mud. Small slides such as falls of sand and gravel banks, and small rock-falls from steep slopes and cuttings. Instances of settlement of unconsolidated or wet, or weak soils. Some fine cracks appear in sloping ground. A few instances of liquefaction (i.e. small water and sand ejections).
    MMI VIII (Severe shaking) ?
    People Alarm may approach panic. Steering of motorcars greatly affected. Structures : Low standard buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. ordinary workmanship buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged in some cases. A few instances of damage to buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes. Monuments and pre-1976 elevated tanks and factory stacks twisted or brought down. Some pre-1965 infill masonry panels damaged. A few post-1980 brick veneers damaged. Decayed timber piles of houses damaged. Houses not secured to foundations may move. Most unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, some below roof-line, many brought down. Environment : Cracks appear on steep slopes and in wet ground. Small to moderate slides in roadside cuttings and unsupported excavations. Small water and sand ejections and localized lateral spreading adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
    MMI IX (Violent shaking) ?
    Structures Many low standard buildings destroyed. Ordinary workmanship buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes damaged in some cases, some with flexible frames seriously damaged. Damage or permanent distortion to some buildings and bridges, designed and built to normal use standards. Houses not secured to foundations shifted off. Brick veneers fall and expose frames. Environment : Cracking of ground conspicuous. Landsliding general on steep slopes. Liquefaction effects intensified and more widespread, with large lateral spreading and flow sliding adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
