  • Sherwood - Quick shake and house rumble
  • Beaverton - No Damage. 3rd floor of apartment started shaking

  • West linn - No damage, felt movement for brief seconds
  • Oregon City - Quick shake. Heard neighbors discussing also.
  • sherwood - none just a shake and a up movment
  • Beaverton - Cat's ears perked up, then the apt. moved.
  • Lake Oswego - Very quick tremor yet still destinct and abrupt.
  • Wilsonville - Just a quick hard jolt and then a bit of a light rumble afterwards.
  • Beaverton - Whole house shuttered for a few seconds. No damage. Closed doors upstairs rattled...sounded like lots of hands knocking quickly. Noticed the noise more than actually feeling it.
  • West Linn - Heard Boom and felt shake
  • Sherwood - Felt like something had crashed into the house. Huge shuddering of whole house. No damage noted yet.
  • forest grove - Quick bump and "whoosh" feeling
  • Lake Oswego - House creaked really hard and a big jolt for about a second. Felt and sounded like something big fell on the house. Jolt-boom
  • Sherwood - No damage. The house shook pretty good.
  • Lake Oswego - Gentle shaking felt on first floor of home. Slight creaking noise. No apparent damage
  • Tualatin - About 3 brief shakes. Dog began barking 30 seconds before we felt shake (unusual). No damage.
  • Newberg - felt apartment floor shake and heard windows rattle
  • Redland Road - No damage. Just felt a slight floating sensation
  • Tualatin - I felt a little jolt and a little roll. I was lying in bed. I guessed it was about a 3.2 since i am originally from Calif and i have felt eartquakes before.
  • Portland - Dorm building shook for a few seconds, no damage.
  • Oregon City - No damage, just light shaking of my bed
  • Portland Oregon - It was like some one shut the door hard.. No damage
  • Lake Oswego - Quick, sharp two or three North - South shakes.
  • Tualatin - Just a slight jolt
  • Newberg - No damage...quick jolt.
  • Beaverton - Wall moving slightly, furniture shook.
  • Tigard - No damage, just one quick shake a couple seconds in duration like something hit the house.
  • Sherwood - No damage, just felt a slight jolt and some shaking for a short period of time.
  • Beaverton - House Shook once then it was done.
  • Tualatin - about 4 seconds of rocking in Tualatin
  • tualatin - no damages
  • Lake Oswego - No damage, but clearly felt the furniture move as if kicked by someone
  • King City - Quick shake of the house. Thought it was a kid jumping upstairs.
  • Sherwood - I thought at first my daughter had fallen out of bed! No damage at all.
  • Sherwood - Felt a seton jolt under our house
  • Sherwood - No damage. Minor shaking.
  • Sherwood - Window shook felt like a big gust of wind hit the house.
  • Tualatin - Brief thud and feeling like strong wind hitting house. No known damage.
  • Tigard - short light shaking, minor
  • Portland - I work at Providence St. Vincent. I velt a slight vibration in the floor, similar to when a large truck drives by you on the street. About 5 minutes later a coworker stopped by my desk and asked me if I knew there was an earthquake in Sherwood!
  • Tualatin - Not a jolt, but a swaying shake. Quite short, thankfully.
  • Lake Oswego - house shuddered
  • Hillsboro, OR - Live on the 3rd floor apartment. Computer monitor shook back and forth for a few seconds. Also our glass's of ice water were shaking. Heard a pop!
  • Tigard - The building just shook. I thought it was the wash machine on spin cycle.
  • Portland - Bed shook twice
  • tualatin - Slight movement of furniture in second floor apartment.
  • tigard - Felt the house shake a little!
  • Portland - House shook + floor vibrated.
  • sherwood oregon 97140 - loud deep noise and slight shake
  • Beaverton - House shake, short duration.
  • Tigard, or - Felt very strange shaking/moving/rattling/pounding of the inside french door and interior wall shaking boom sound, felt like something very heavy fell on top of the roof, and it was so fast and very heavy rumbling loud and scary that is very hard to make any movement or rational decisions right there and then, we became very confused when it happened. We wish not to experience anything like this ever again because it is really scary even for this to be only M3.3.
  • Beaverton, Oregon - Sounded and felt like something fell on or hit our house. Several creaking noises followed.
  • beaverton - Felt like the house received a light bump, maybe followed by a second bump within a second.
  • Lake Oswego - No property damage. Saw fridge and 2 built in ovens moving.
  • Forest Grove - My partner was working in the garage and thought someone was knocking on the wall. Then my friend and neighbor said that at around the same time her bed shook briefly.
  • Tigard - No damage. I was in bed and it started shaking. The wall squeaked a little bit.
  • Sherwood - Light shaking of furniture in the house.
  • Sherwood - It felt like someone jumped off of a chair.
  • Sherwood - House rumbled (sounded like something fell on the roof)
  • Sherwood, Oregon - Don't believe there was any damage
  • Tigard - Felt more like rolling than shaking. Like when you are in a boat and a wave passes underneath
  • North Plains - 2 seconds of a shake. Enough to jolt the couch I was sitting on and scare me a bit, although my husband was distracted in the other room didn't notice. No damage.
  • Hillsboro - single bump
  • Beaverton - 2 jolts and shaking, like a vehicle ran into our house, no damage to house
  • Tigard - I didn't feel it downstairs, but my daughter felt it upstairs and said the hanging lamps swayed.
  • beaverton - More noise heard the felt .. very short
  • Milwaukie - House creaked two times first time very little second time later shook our chairs and house creaked but no damage
  • Sherwood - Thought it was the wind shaking the house, except there was no wind. Very quick.
  • Newberg - House shook for a short amount of time, nothing knocked off the walls or anything.
  • Tigard - Heard a loud bang and then felt shaking, as if someone upstairs had dropped a heavy piece of furniture. No damage.
  • Sherwood - It felt like a rolling wave passed through our house. Very minor and quick. Only lasted for a few seconds.
  • Bull Mountain - No damage. Just rattling of lamp, TV and pictures.
  • Sherwood, OR - Felt like something upstairs might have fallen or an outside door closed, changing the air pressure in the house. Shook the house. No damage.
  • Newberg - Heard a loud noise then it felt like someone slammed against the side of my house, then the bed was shaking slightly then stopped for a second then started up again. Lasted about 20 seconds or so.
  • beaverton - Watching TV and the couch started shaking for a few seconds. No damage
  • Tigard - Sounded like something landed on the roof of the house
  • Wilsonville, OR - Heard and felt a couple of quick jolts.
  • West Linn - No damage. Thought something hit the house. Heard and felt the shake.
  • Hillsboro - no damage was done. there was one big shake accompanied with a noise. it sounded like a transformer was blown.
  • portland - no damage, felt like the house foundation was hit with something heavy.
  • Portland - One small shake, sounded like something hit the house. No damage.
  • Tigard, OR - Felt the bed sway and could hear a low rumble in the walls
  • Tualatin - Felt house shake
  • Beaverton - No damage, light shake for a few seconds.
  • Lake Oswego - it felt like a tree fell on our house. There was a loud noise and our house moved. So glad to hear this confirmed. We've been wondering all night what it was.
  • Portland - Very brief weak shaking.
  • Tigard/King City - I have a damaged inner ear from infections as a small child which makes shaking and the like a little more "fun". This one felt came on like the dizziness you get before you vomit and then made it feel as if I was a drunk swaying. No one in the area seemed to notice anything at all, aside from the drunk standing in line swaying. :-P
  • Sherwood, OR - Shook all the plumbing in the house for a couple of seconds
  • Mulino - Very breif.
  • Wilsonville - Relaxing on futon when this massive shake rolled from West to East underneath me. Sounded like a growl echoed as it left the emidiate area. Woke up with this nasty low vibration in my middle ear this morning oddly, I felt nauseous & had a mild migraine all day. Seams to have gone now along with that low vibration in my ear. Air pressure change? No real damage other than a few horizontal fissures running above a door in the header, and adjacent in a vertcal support next to door. All run W to E.
  • Lake Oswego - In a motel room. No damage but the people above us make a lot more noise.
  • Sherwood - I was babysitting and the 3 year old boy came running out of his room balling saying his bed was shaking. I did not feel this first one but I sat it his room with him to help him calm down and about 9 minutes later felt some shaking and heard things in the house creaking and moving. No damage.
  • Hillsboro - Felt more like something crashed into my building.
  • Sherwood - Condo shook
  • Beaverton - 2 jolts to the house
  • Lake Oswego - My cat, lying on floor, jumped up and looked around with a sound and a jolt, and I then felt a light shaking while sitting on the couch at 8:33pm. (Had the TV menu with time on, at the time.)
  • Gaston - A quick sharp jolt, with a few seconds fast up and down vibration.
  • Sherwood, Oregon - Ground rolled, pictures on wall bounced a number of times, dog jumped on my lap a couple of minutes before it happened.
  • la center, WA - No property damage...minor shaking of bed and pictures observed
  • Sherwood, Oregon - The wall "rolled", and wall hangings bounced. Dog jumped up on my lap just before it hit. Thought it might have been a "4".
  • Tigard - There was one big shake followed by 20-30 seconds of week shaking.
  • Aloha - I was seated in an armchair against the wall and the chair moved about 2 inches away from the wall suddenly & the floor "shook slightly. No Damage.
  • Tigard - Slight rattling
  • Lake Oswego - Sitting on couch holding daughter when suddenly felt intense vibration and shake for three seconds and it was gone.
  • Hillsboro, OR - Sounded like someone was running across the roof, entire house creaked for several seconds, plants were shaking, heard windows shaking, no damage.
  • King City - Our Dog Chekau Was Acting A Little Funny At the Time Of The Sherwood Oregon M3.3 This Eveing.
  • Beaverton - Was laying on the couch and it just shook for a moment and wondered if we just had an earthquake. My mom was standing near me and didn't notice it though.
  • West Linn - Quick shake through house. No damage.
  • clackamas - We did not feel any shaking however our dogs acted strangely and so did the animals outside; odd birds calling that never do at that time; dogs in the neighborhood were barking and howling in an odd manner.
  • Tualatin - Felt a jolt and the walls were creaking.It felt like someone dropped something heavy upstairs.
  • Oregon City - One swift jolt and accompanying noise. As soon as you realized what it was it was over already.
  • Tigard - Cat freaked out, small furniture fell
  • Tigard - It was a quick jolt just after 8pm April 7th
  • Sherwood OR - I felt it
  • Beaverton - House shook for a few seconds.
  • GASTON - felt very light shaking while sitting on the couch and heard the window next to me rattle husband sitting in recliner next to me said he felt nothing.
  • Milwaukie - believe i felt slight tremors in the middle of last night (april 6th PM or april 7th AM)
  • Tigard Scholls Ferry/Barrows - Big Jolt. House creaked. Dog knew prior and was whining.
  • Portland - Felt through shower floor. No damage
  • Beaverton, OR - One bounce and it was over - no damage
  • Sherwood - rattled the stove and pots on the stove
  • Beaverton - Light shaking for a few moments, some crackling sounds from outside the house.
  • Beaverton - A big bounce & boom on the southern side of the house and a considerable shutter lasting about 3-4 seconds.
  • Tualatin - Moved sofa slightly
  • Portland - no damage noted. Very quick event
  • Sherwood - no damage just a little shaking of house
  • beaverton - A boom, a big bounce on the south side of house, and shutters. Lasted 3 seconds or so. Couch bounced, and things on walls shook. Startling.
  • West Linn - Felt a weak, quick shake and heard the house creek once. Told my husband who was sitting next to me on the couch that we just had an earthquake and he didn't believe me.
  • Newberg - The whole house shook like a huge semi hit the side of the house.
  • Beaverton - Windows creaked and bed shook lightly for about 2 seconds.
  • Aloha Or 97007 - It wasn't a shake… just one jolt. I was sitting in a chair and felt as if someone pushed the chair.
  • Sherwood - I heard a strange kind of a pop sound and the house moved like it had been gently but firmly nudged.
  • Tigard - a two second rumble with a little high pitched noise
  • Beaverton - Felt more like a strong bump as if something struck the house or a large item fell over. Shook the house abruptly and very breifly. 1990's 2 story house.
  • west linn - Im on 3rd floor of 3 story building, the walls and the floor shook big time! the pictures on my wall shook the papers out that I stuck in the frame.
  • Sherwood - It felt and sounded like a small explosion, wasn't sure what it was ?
  • Tigard - Felt slight roll north to south followed by light creak of house.
  • springfield - my bedroom door rattled a couple of times, it was closed. but there were 2 different occasions when it shook.
  • Hillsboro - Was shaken on the couch feeling as though the whole side of my house was being rattled.
  • Gladstone - Very fast, very strong. My (adult)daughter felt it; it frightened her. The dog ran off barking. I felt nothing in the same room, which just shocked my daughter.
  • Tualatin - Split second cracking noise.
  • Milwaukie, OR - no damage, quick shake, water in my water bottle was moving. I was in the second floor of my house and I heard the walls creak briefly
  • King city, Oregon - We live on the top floor of a 3 story apartment. My wife and I were grilling on our covered balcony. I was sitting,she was standing. We both felt it but didn't acknowledge it until later when we heard we had an earthquake. We both thought the downstairs neighbors were moving something or had shut a door very hard. It was very quick and light.
  • Tualatin - Was sitting on bed and felt four shakes back and fourth. During that time also heard a rumbling noise, t'was awesome
  • Newberg - One strong shudder, then a weaker shudder a second later. No damage, no windows rattling.

  • 97229 - woke up to the bed moving, it felt kinda like a wave movement going back and forth. Duration seemed to be about 10-15 s.

    MMI II (Very weak shaking) ?
    People :
    Felt by persons at rest, on upper floors or favorably placed.
    MMI III (Weak shaking) ?
    People :
    Felt indoors; hanging objects may swing, vibration similar to passing of light trucks, duration may be estimated, may not be recognized as an earthquake.
    MMI IV (Light shaking) ?
    People :
    Generally noticed indoors but not outside. Light sleepers may be awakened. Vibration may be likened to the passing of heavy traffic, or to the jolt of a heavy object falling or striking the building.
    Fittings :
    Doors and windows rattle. Glassware and crockery rattle. Liquids in open vessels may be slightly disturbed. Standing motorcars may rock.
    Structures :
    Walls and frames of buildings, and partitions and suspended ceilings in commercial buildings, may be heard to creak.
    MMI V (Moderate shaking) ?
    People :
    Generally felt outside, and by almost everyone indoors. Most sleepers awakened. A few people alarmed.
    Fittings :
    Small unstable objects are displaced or upset. Some glassware and crockery may be broken. Hanging pictures knock against the wall. Open doors may swing. Cupboard doors secured by magnetic catches may open. Pendulum clocks stop, start, or change rate.
    Structures :
    Some large display windows cracked. A few earthenware toilet fixtures cracked.
    MMI VI (Strong shaking) ?
    People Felt by all. People and animals alarmed. Many run outside. Difficulty experienced in walking steadily.
    Fittings :
    Objects fall from shelves. Pictures fall from walls. Some furniture moved on smooth floors, some unsecured free-standing fireplaces moved. Glassware and crockery broken. Very unstable furniture overturned. Small church and school bells ring. Appliances move on bench or table tops. Filing cabinets or "easy glide" drawers may open (or shut).
    Structures :
    Slight damage to buildings with low standard. Some stucco or cement plaster falls. Large display windows broken. Damage to a few weak domestic chimneys, some may fall.
    Environment :
    Trees and bushes shake, or are heard to rustle. Loose material may be dislodged from sloping ground, e.g. existing slides, talus slopes, shingle slides.
    MMI VII (Very strong shaking) ?
    People
    General alarm. Difficulty experienced in standing. Noticed by motorcar drivers who may stop.
    Fittings :
    Large bells ring. Furniture moves on smooth floors, may move on carpeted floors. Substantial damage to fragile contents of buildings.
    Structures :
    Unreinforced stone and brick walls cracked. Low standard buildings cracked with some minor masonry falls. A few instances of damage to buildings of ordinary workmanship. Unbraced parapets, unbraced brick gables, and architectural ornaments fall. Roofing tiles, especially ridge tiles may be dislodged. Many unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, often falling from roof-line. Water tanks Type I burst. A few instances of damage to brick veneers and plaster or cement-based linings. Unrestrained water cylinders (hot-water cylinders) may move and leak. Some common windows cracked. Suspended ceilings damaged.
    Environment :
    Water made turbid by stirred up mud. Small slides such as falls of sand and gravel banks, and small rock-falls from steep slopes and cuttings. Instances of settlement of unconsolidated or wet, or weak soils. Some fine cracks appear in sloping ground. A few instances of liquefaction (i.e. small water and sand ejections).
    MMI VIII (Severe shaking) ?
    People Alarm may approach panic. Steering of motorcars greatly affected. Structures : Low standard buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. ordinary workmanship buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged in some cases. A few instances of damage to buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes. Monuments and pre-1976 elevated tanks and factory stacks twisted or brought down. Some pre-1965 infill masonry panels damaged. A few post-1980 brick veneers damaged. Decayed timber piles of houses damaged. Houses not secured to foundations may move. Most unreinforced domestic chimneys damaged, some below roof-line, many brought down. Environment : Cracks appear on steep slopes and in wet ground. Small to moderate slides in roadside cuttings and unsupported excavations. Small water and sand ejections and localized lateral spreading adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
    MMI IX (Violent shaking) ?
    Structures Many low standard buildings destroyed. Ordinary workmanship buildings heavily damaged, some collapse. Reinforced masonry or concrete buildings damaged, some with partial collapse. Buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes damaged in some cases, some with flexible frames seriously damaged. Damage or permanent distortion to some buildings and bridges, designed and built to normal use standards. Houses not secured to foundations shifted off. Brick veneers fall and expose frames. Environment : Cracking of ground conspicuous. Landsliding general on steep slopes. Liquefaction effects intensified and more widespread, with large lateral spreading and flow sliding adjacent to streams, canals, lakes, etc.
