This evening people on the island felt an earthquake since long time. A M3.8 off the coast at the western side of the island was responsible for this. NO specific tremor on the graphs. Depth 16 km is still very deep.

We are sorry not to have posted more information on El Hierro, since late July. A lot of earthquakes in the world and now recently the Iceland Bardarbunga volcano are part of the reason. Here is the list of the El Hierro seismicity over the last 28 days.

Nothing spectacular the last couple of weeks. If a sudden revival would happen we will jump in with a new information stream of course.

70 meter.

I wanted to thank Joke for her beautiful pictures! I was their a few years ago on vacation in Tenerife and we were making a trip to El Hierro. And I will thank you Armand for your blogs here. The operated cams of El Hierro are in a bad condition the lenses are not clean and the sight at the bush bush of the panoramic cam is in a bad position we cant see anymore now on the sea and why are they doing this? I understand that it is not posible everytime to sit at that cam but when they do it proper it can in another way and they can zooming it at the see. We hope that the operator is trying to do this so. Thank the movistar company for sending the cam to us. Friendly greetings from Holland.
