Unusual moderate shallow earthquake close to Melbourne, Australia

Earthquake-Report.com has made a short video based on the text below. Feel free to take a look.

UPDATE 14:20 UTC : Australia is part of the Australian tectonic plate that runs from New Zealand to the Himalayas. There are no important boundaries near the Australian continent, but because the plates are moving continuously, stress can build up in local (sometimes even undetected) fault zones.

UPDATE 14:17 UTC : Seismologists are almost sure that the earthquake today was triggered by the same fault line that generated the March 2009 quakes.

UPDATE 06:18 UTC : The magnitude from Geoscience Australia is Ml4.38. The depth of 2km has also been given. Felt reports have concluded that it was felt more weakly than the 2009 shocks, and that “it felt like a truck rumbling past a pub”. If you have ever been to Australia (or are from Australia), you will know the feeling of a road train rumbling past a country pub while drinking a cold beverage.
Reports of the duration of the quake shaking has ranged from 10 seconds up to around about 30 seconds.
A Geoscience Australia spokesman said the centre had received more
than 300 reports from people who felt the quake.
Within a radius of 7km from the epicenter, GA says that damage may be expected (minor of course), and within 93km, the felt radius, based on past earthquakes.

UPDATE : The Korumburra area experienced also 2 similar earthquakes in March 2009 (4.6 Magnitude). The  earthquake swarm in 2009 was between M 1.8 and M 4.6 and created some minor damage.

UPDATE : Australian Geoscience received more than 100 I Have Felt It reports

UPDATE : by Australian standards this earthquake is quite significant

UPDATE : One hour after the mainshock,  a 3.3 magnitude aftershock was well felt in the same area.

UPDATE : USGS is reporting a magnitude of 4.6 @ a depth of 10 km (we tend to believe the Australian data more as their equipment is installed closer to the epicenter).

UPDATE : Felt experiences as received by Earthquake-Report.com :
Yarra Valley : Reasonable amount of shaking for some time in the Yarra Valley about 11.35am est Victoria (light shaking indicated)
Emerald : Sitting at my computer, suddenly hear and feel shaking, TV remote almost fell off table but I grabbed it. (light shaking indicated)
Vermont South : Only some very weak shaking. No structural damage or falling objects. (weak shaking indicated)
Hampton Park : I was half asleep in bed when my whole house started shaking, something fell off my bookcase, and it sounded like a plane was landing on my house (light shaking indicated).
Frankston : Felt slight shaking, ripple like of table and floor (weak shaking indicated)

UPDATE : Due to the extremely shallow depth of 2 km, the earthquake feels like a close by explosion for those living very near to it (in fact the whole city of Koromburra)

UPDATE : The earthquake has been well felt in Melbourne, Australia

Based on the data from Geoscience Australia, this shallow earthquake maybe damaging within a radius of 7 km from the epicenter.
